Covid-19 Statistics

Not sure what you mean spitty. If you have a tv licence then you have full access to all BBC services AFAIK,

Simple, I would have to sign up, and, to do that would involve giving contact information. Not worried about that but, I would get stuff to have to delete and I can’t be arsed.

Can’t remember giving them anything of value other than a valid email. Haven’t had any emails from them. Might have had to put in the details of our TV licence, which they’d have anyway, so am not giving any secrets away.

Anyway, if you don’t want to listen to it, then no problem. Was interesting though.

I just wonder why it was released now?
They’ve known about the video all year

Hi

Simple, depends on who has known about it.

It was not in the Public Domain.

It was taken by someone there at the time, a paid employee, not one of the Elite.

If you have now lost your job you have nothing to lose.

Premier Dominic Perrottet has said an increasing number of cases of the Omicron COVID-19 variant in NSW would not impact the easing of restrictions next week. It is part of living with Covid.

The total number of Omicron infections in NSW has risen to 42 with eight new cases reported.

None of the state’s Omicron cases have been admitted to hospital.

Meanwhile Deputy PM Barnaby Joyce is isolating in New York after catching Covid in the UK.

UK kissing 60K, is Frances data playing up again?

UK cases per million increasing, this has well overtaken the USA now.
Totals for the UK are still very concerning, over 100 deaths a day.
No way of checking some totals on the website either as they are blank on there.

Depends on the choice of data
https://www.gouvernement.fr/info-coronavirus/carte-et-
Last figures I looked at says 116 deaths on that day
hardly 0 is it

Thanks for giving an alternative, all in French and I don’t know that language. The total of 116 deaths a day in France you give are as concerning as those in the UK though. There’s nothing to be done for those people, I just think of all the loved ones left behind and how they are probably feeling.

I read it in English though so I expected it to come over in English.
I can’t explain that but obviously that put your nose out

Will learn one day this forum can be an unfriendly place to hang out when your under the weather.
Cheers for all that.

Not a problem with the language, other than I could not read it and thanks anyway for providing the total figure, much appreciated.
My nose was not put out of joint in any way, that is not the person I am as I don’t easily take offence.
No unfriendliness intended at all, sorry you saw it in that light. I too have been finding life very difficult since the start of the pandemic but find it good to come on OFC where there are others, far different to my mostly solitary daily life.

Just for your info.

I think Worldometer scrapes the data from the official data such as the one @DianneWoollie quoted. T he problem is that because of time zones and different times when governments update their data (eg NSW updates their data at 8pm) then the figures on Worldometer will actually vary from the current figures because of this delay.

I try to pick up the figures at the same time each day, The figures I quote should have consistency from day to day even if individual numbers might be the previous days due to time differences.

This is from their web site:

What are the sources for the coronavirus COVID-19 numbers?

Official reports, directly from Government’s communication channels or indirectly, through local media sources when deemed reliable. We provide the source of each data update in the “Latest Updates” (News) section. Timely updates are made possible thanks to the participation of users around the world and to the dedication of a team of analysts and researchers who validate data from an ever-growing list of over 5,000 sources. Worldometer’s Covid-19 data is trusted and used by Johns Hopkins CSSE, Financial Times, The New York Times, Business Insider, and many others.

I was just trying to show the up to date figures Bruce.
I don’t know why it would not show up in English. I just wish I had not posted here.

Omicron, two weeks on
spreading fast, but hospitalisations and death rates remain static.

That’s fine, no problem for me, I just thought it timely to mention how and where I got the figures from and why they might not be the very latest figures. Not criticism, please post what ever you like on the subject.

The figures for Germany look bad.
