COVID-19: Six Omicron variant cases detected in Scotland, authorities say

Nobody has died from Omicron, the WHO has confirmed this today.

Well that’s good news
although I would still be wary about it, because its new and has different specs to the “usual” variations. Having said that, nobody (yet) has said that its worse than a heavy cold. So I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this cycle might be the beginning of the end of the whole dammed thing?

Each Variant is getting less severe in terms of mortality.

I saw a surgeon on Sky news saying exactly the same, maybe it was the same chap, he was so frustrated and angry
makes me think there should be specialist Covid hospitals like there used to be specialist TB hospitals, freeing up normal hospitals to do the usual things.

The Nightingale Hospitals! That was the point of building them in the first place! Maybe they don’t have the staff for them anymore though?

Yes I believe that’s the case, a chronic shortage of staff :-1:

My colleague is ill right now with Covid and he only had it a few weeks ago! 2nd dose and he is very poorly again
