And it’s been going downhill ever since I’ve been told.
That’s why I’m glad Stella is leaving (but only, it seems, as far as the Bistro ) - she’s from EE and she did nothing but moan and whine!
Come on producers - let’s have more of Steve, Lloyd and Eileen’s banter
Yes I like those 3 too Ben. I like Hayley too but she’s leaving of course. I used to like Fred Elliot the butcher as well and his son Ashley.
Aww, Fred and Ashley - I’d forgotten those two! Yes, I like Hayley and Roy and I’m sorry she wants to leave, they go so well together don’t they. Poor Roy, I wonder if he’ll ever find love again.
I think Roy will eventually get together with Mary (think that’s her name) who lives in the motor home.
Ower Ashley and Ower Clurr!! I like Steve and Eileen, but not so keen on Lloyd. Feel he’s outlived his usefulness.
DREADING the new co-owner of the Rovers. Cannot stand the woman, actress or character and am bitterly disappointed she’s coming back. Guess I’ll be recording Corrie in future and missing out those bits.
As for a Roy and Mary union. Hmm…not sure about that one. The Mary character would love it of course, but Roy wouldn’t. He’d think of it as being unfaithful to Hayley. And can you imagine her taking over Roy’s Rolls? She’s as bad as Sally for pushing her way in. She did that with Norris.
As for the DNA test (where’s J. Kyle when you need him?!), there was an article recently where an actress had ‘left’ the result open in a script to be photographed. Though who did that is unsure.
Wasn’t it Tina who left the script open?
I watch Corrie for sentimental reasons I think, being in on it from the start, however there were several years when we didn’t have TV that I lived without it. I don’t watch any other soap, did try EE when it first started and quickly found it wasn’t for me.
Yes, it was Tina.
I don’t watch EE, never have and never will. Too much fighting and screaming.
Yes, agree with that Jazzi, that’s why I don’t like it too.
You could well be right and it would explain her stepping in to help run the cafe - kind of easing her into the role with no explanations necessary?
Roy may find he no longer likes living alone and Mary is happy for a platonic relationship - we shall see
Having read the other posts, I find this one to be the most probable, because I don’t think Roy will ever really find love again after Hayley. She and Roy are dysfunctional and yet were made for each other, but I think Mary would be too demanding on somebody like Roy in a serious relationship. However, a definite friendship could be bonded there.
I also think baby Lily will be proven to be David’s little girl. I hope so anyway, and I hope Leanne never needs to find out about the scumbag she’s married to, cheated on her.
Well, David’s done it! He’s sent off the DNA samples so now we’ll find out one way or the other. Come on producers, let it be good news for once.
I have a feeling that unfortunately it will be Nick’s.
OR - He could decide he can’t bear to stay in the cafe anymore and disappear forever in a black taxi . . . .
OR - He could have an interesting stranger come in the cafe one day, desperate for a job . . . .
Is his Mother ever likely to make a comeback do we know?
I hope Roy will take up ballroom dancing, Mary has shown a compassionate nature with Dev and enjoys dancing like Haley, don’t want him to fade as a character.
Didn’t someone say that the actress playing his mother is ill? Senior moment, can’t remember her name! Oops.
OR - after her death he may start sleepwalking again! Getting up in the night, rearranging the cafe furniture, cleaning the oven, then sitting there awake looking for the intruder!
I wonder if the writers have met up with the actor, David Nielson, and asked his input. He’s played Roy for so long he must have an idea how he’d behave in those circumstances. He might put on a stiff upper lip and carry on as before, but not talk about it. Personally, I dunno. Hard one. Wouldn’t like to be one of the writers, having to try and think of a future for Roy.
Stephanie Cole, googled. Just keep it a positive storyline not depressing us all for weeks.
Don’t think Mary is looking for platonic, she can often be seen greasing the springs on the Motorhome.
I can’t see Mary and Roy as a couple at all, I have a feeling he won’t couple up with anyone at all as previous to the love of his life he was a lonely figure and would I think go back to being that.
He does now have Fizz and her family and Anna and his mother so he will be OK I am sure but another romantic tryst I think is off the cards.
