I agree. I suggested the same earlier. I don’t know why we haven’t heard more along those lines from the authorities.
Yes, that’s it!
Sadly, no … £1.50 on Ebay …
Hi JB see here if you haven’t already…
What should you do if you have hospital and GP appointments during this period?
We advise everyone to access medical assistance remotely, wherever possible. However, if you have a scheduled hospital or other medical appointment during this period, talk to your GP or clinician to ensure you continue to receive the care you need and consider whether appointments can be postponed.
I was born at Home during WW2 …was told there were bombs dropping not too far away…I survived that…I’ll survive this :-p
Hi JBR I’m positive enough fingers crossed about living through it but I am worried about the number of businesses that will be affected and likely the need to rebuild as was the case after WWII. We were fortunate in that we had the Marshall plan then. This is not yet at that stage but if it does carry on for months then our entire financial structures will fall apart as businesses go bust. It’s all built on so much bluff and double bluff as it is (by that I mean the nonsense of financial instruments).
Thanks Meg.
Actually, I had a text message only yesterday from the Eye Hospital reminding me that they’re expecting me next week, and to confirm.
I’ll telephone the GP later this week if I haven’t heard from them.
Actually, they could do it remotely: Marge has been trained in venepuncture and I could post it to them, or squirt it at them!
Chocolate should last a couple of years. Even when it turns white, it is still okay to eat.
Hopefully most of us will survive this, sadly, some will not but whatever happens, I think this could be the end of life as we know it (for a while anyway). I reckon it will take at least a decade for the World economy to recover from all this. Let’s be honest, we have been living the high life for a good few years now.
Mine never does, it’ll last about a week, possibly two, if I ration it.
A whole week?
I had chocolate for breakfast this morning.
I had chocolate for lunch, well I’s got no bread.
I was just thinking the same this morning Annie. With so many people been sent home from from work without pay (my daughter among them, she works in a cafe’) I was wondering how they would support themselves and their families. The government can only supply so much aid before they themselves will be bankrupt.
This could mean no pensions…
Dare I say that rioting and looting of shops would not be unlikely if it goes on for too long.
Sad to say I had thought the same thing.
It does show our un-preparedness but then how can you prepare for something like this when there are just so many billions of us.
It makes you wonder how bad it was in the 1918 spanish flu pandemic.
I was just saying on another thread OGF that using the army is a possibility at supermarkets.
They’ve been deployed on the streets in France today.
Yes Longdogs, we could be under marshal law if it goes on too long, people will become desperate.
I can’t believe how fast all this has happened…
All we need now is the internet to go down, or be reserved just for official data…
It never takes long for society to break down. Luckily there are still those that keep things going.
