Mags I was thinking about the power going down and getting some barbeque logs if that happens.
At the supermarket today every single carton of eggs had gone. Toilet rolls still seem very attractive, you could see the tumbleweed rolling across the shelves they were that deserted of goods. I did manage to grab two boxes of disposable spontex gloves that nobody seems to have spotted! It was like winning the lottery
LQ seems no one is really sure .
The current symptoms as described today that you ought to stay home with are a new cough and a fever .I
I just saw a part of the news , a man diagnosed and currently self isolating describing his symptoms and he said the cough is the worst. He didnât look poorly tho.
My sonâs lady love is a nurse at the local hospital, she works in the operating theatre.
She said there is a âPodâ in the grounds of the hospital and there are 2 cases of the virus in there now.
They were taking me, along with her parents out for a Motherâs Day meal together, but have just cancelled it now.
Pity, but I think itâs for the best under the present circumstances. We can go out another time - God willing!
I think the most accurate point in the article is âWe donât know yet.â. There was a point made tonight that 7 days are enough, but this is contradicted by the prodromal period of up to 14 days. It has also been officially said that it only survives a few hours on surfaces. The article mentions âseveral daysâ. There seems much conflicting advice/information.
From the article "Keep your distance from other people, and try to avoid unnecessary travel and social gatherings. " I am not sure how that is consistent with the official guidance/strategy? There has not been any official directive to keeping your distance. There has not been any instruction to maintain 2m distance (1m is definitely not enough!).
âIf youâre somewhere without ready access to soap and water, go to someplace where you do and stay there.â This was an interesting point in the article. Are we supposed to hide in the loos at work hoping it will go away?!
I see there is a caveat : âAgain, I am not a medical expert â just someone good at reading, math, and basic reasoningâ But has anyone read that far?
Yes Meg, and I donât think we have been told the whole truth from the beginning either.
I got a text from my GP surgery today, saying not to go there if we feel unwell and that they are offering telephone triage in the first instance.
Apparently because so many patients canât get through on the phone, they have been queuing outside when the surgery opens at 8 a.m. but they have been asked not to do that now either.
I agree Annie.
I donât like Donald normally, but at least he seems to be doing more than Boris over all this.
I also didnât much care for Borisâs speech this evening, saying about we will all be losing relatives and loved ones soon.
That was not necessary, and it was unhelpful.
It was totally unhelpful and IMO was to say that the Government see the elderly and vulnerable as necessary casualties of a poor strategy made to save money.
