Coronavirus

Bakerman it didn’t ,I was emphasising mine .

Does Covid19 give you the trots?

The toilet paper section at my local Coles Supermarket:

Oh dear. I’m going to have to go back to buying the Daily Mail.

Well, what I feared would happen, has happened. 15 of the 50 states now have confirmed cases of covid-19. It has spread from coast to coast.

All 6 covid-19 deaths have happened in the state of Washington.

It is clear to me that there are infected people walking around who do not know they are infected. Thus, they are actively infecting others.

It looks like the incubation time is much longer than they previously thought.

If my county gets any cases, there is no way in hell that I’m going outside my apartment.

Not likely to go away anytime soon. One person reporting from an animal charity in China, said they have been told the peak will be in March/April/May. … and that’s in China !

CAUTION:
I just heard on this mornings news that 3rd party sellers, on Amazon.com, of face masks have upped the price by a factor of 400-500%. Plus they are charging customers hundreds of dollars in shipping costs.

The news said that Amazon has removed those 3rd party sellers from their web site, because of price gouging.

If you plan on buying face masks from ANY on-line service, please use EXTREME caution.

Bloody hell Brucy, is that the toilet paper section in Woolagong??
Must eat a lot of curry there?

Donkeyman!

If anyone’s daft enough to buy them, they’re fools to themselves. They are pointless.

Hi

Really?

Then why are the NHS using them?

To protect others if the NHS persons have a cough, cold, or other airborne virus otherwise, as JBR pointed out, they’re useless for self-protection (because of the gaps at the sides).

I don’t agree they are useless. If the wearer has a cold or coughs or sneezes then at least the droplets aren’t getting sprayed into the air as much as they would if they weren’t wearing one.

I don’t think it’s daft to at least attempt to restrict the spread.

Anything is worth a try with something as serious as this.

You mean for operations?

They are useful for keeping things IN, when you breathe out or sneeze, but for keeping things OUT, they are not particularly effective.

Hi

Nope.

The NHS are using FFP3 facemasks

The ones I recommended in a previous post.

Yes, but see PV’s post before yours and this of mine above.

All those people hopefully wandering around wearing masks are concerned about protecting themselves.

Hi

Once again, please stop posting nonsense.

FFP3 Masks are specifically designed to protect against ingress, not egress.

I reckon this guy has the right idea :

Hate to state the flipping obvious but: if everyone wore a mask…the virus would be contained!!!

Well said! And to criticise anyone who is at least making an attempt to protect themselves…and others…is churlish beyond belief!

Is there no other news going on?

I’m about as sick of hearing about it as I was with Megxit and Brexit.

Just use common sense for heaven’s sake!

Every time I hear the C word I change channels!

I’m gonna catch it now aren’t I?

Perhaps you should start a campaign for every household in the UK to send Boris a comb…it would take a few zillion to get the message across!
