The same long covid effects are suffered by the after affects of flu to some, or indeed a bad cold or even a fall can leave you with life changing illnesses and injury. How come we only just noticed it with Covid…
Those 73000 maybe wouldn’t have died if not for covid. Its not negative foxy its realistic. I know people will die but covid is another new way some may die. On top of already losds of killers
Because it’s also happening to previously healthy fit people OGF. Most viruses don’t attack your internal organs to such an extent.
You don’t know that Lion Queen, do you know how many die each year with the flu?
Where are the figures to substantiate this? Oh! I know…The BBC…
How did you/BBC know they were fit a healthy? Did they have a medical before they died?
I could run over fifty miles at the weekend, but I was surprised to have had a Heart Attack…I thought I was fit and healthy……obviously not!
I’ve seen marathon runners collapse and die in front of me that also thought they were super fit and healthy…Life can be such a bitch at times…
No i only know of one person in my whole life that has been killed by the flu and even she was an Internet friend in Canada, yet I know 6 who have died of covid in one year!
Although it’s been reported here there and everywhere, I was talking about people I know OGF. Not those who died but those who have survived and are now still sick or trying to cope with post-Covid effects.
You win Ladies, I give up…
Wise man. I wouldn’t dare argue with those two either.
I’m going to search round the garage for a piece of rope and a stout beam JB…WE ARE DOOMED!
well some people certainly were but you aren’t because I won’t let anything happen to you, now stop acting like a spoilt child or I’ll make you sit in the corner hehe
She has given her orders, OGF. You’d better obey.

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has announced a range of coronavirus restrictions, including mandatory masks in indoor settings and lifting lockdown orders in the southern half of Sydney’s northern beaches.
The changes come as state health authorities record seven new COVID-19 cases in the 24 hours until 8:00pm, with one of those being an inner-south-western Sydney case whose source on infection remains under investigation.
Two people who allegedly absconded from Melbourne Airport after being told they would have to quarantine for 14 days have handed themselves in to police in regional New South Wales.
A 24-year-old woman and 26-year-old man presented themselves at Goulburn Police Station at 10:00am today, a NSW Police spokesperson said.
He said the pair would be fined at least $19,000 but could also face further action for breaches of public health directions.
Sitting in the corner sounds preferable to bare bottom smackings Lion Queen…:surprised: Then again…

Thanks for that link Foxy! I have been telling people for a number of years that vitamin D is essential, following a chat with my GP who told me that everybody in in the UK should take Vit D supplements through the winter, but they won’t prescribe them unless you are dangerously low.
When I broke my wrist and it took 10 months to heal my doctor gave me a 3 month supply on prescription & when I managed to get above the dangerous level she said I should take Vit D3 supplements for the rest of my life.
I have been doing that over the last 18 months and I can honestly say that I feel much healthier and have had none of the normal infections that that diabetics usually catch.
People can get Vit D3 supplements for around £8 which will last for 200 days ( taking one each day) and this report has now convinced me that I am doing the right thing.
My low blood test showed me to be at level 26 ( close to dangerous) and tests since I have been on the supplements have been between 57 -67 (good). My GP said I could have a vit D test anytime I asked, but getting one when Covid is still around is difficult, so i would suggest that everybody who is older or vulnerable to diseases should take the supplements daily, unless their doctor says they don’t need to!
