There seems to be a fluctuation in the number of deaths each day. I’m thinking that if all the reported figures for a particular day don’t arrive on time, then they will be added onto the next days figures. It must be quite a task receiving and compiling all the figures from the UK each day. They can’t even count all the election votes overnight, and there are tens of thousands of people working through the night. I accept that computers will be more widely used in Covid statistics, but even so! Perhaps a more accurate way of understanding the figures would be better using a weekly average…

The government website provides a 7-day rolling average - here’s an example:

Thanks Omah…
They’ve put a great sticker over this months, any way I can move it Omah?:confused2:

Yes go to the site:

https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/deaths

Select “UK Total” radio button (on the right)

Scroll down to display whole graph

Click "United Kingdom (7-day average) at base of graph

Position cursor over graph - it will change to “+” with associated data for that position, as in my example

:024:

Nice one Omah, and what an interesting site…:023:

To be used in conjunction with:

Coronavirus (COVID-19) roundup

if you want the fuller (real) picture …

That is certainly what happens with cases in NSW, often on a day with say no local cases they report in the late afternoon a case(s) which they say will be included in the next days total.

a lot of deaths in uk today almost 500 and 25,000 new cases

Anyone else get one of these today…

Dear Mr xxxxxxx

On 31 October, the Prime Minister announced new national restrictions to help control the spread of COVID-19. We are writing to you because you have previously been identified as someone thought to be clinically extremely vulnerable and at highest risk of becoming very unwell if you catch COVID-19. This letter contains important advice on how to protect yourself a
