Indeed and “incidents” like this make it worse:
UK’s COVID testing system hit by Roche supply chain glitch
Roche is one of the main suppliers of diagnostic tests to Britain’s National Health Service (NHS) Test and Trace programme. The Roche warehouse in Newhaven on England’s south coast supplies customers throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland.
The Swiss company told UK customers on Wednesday that a switch from an old warehouse to a new automated distribution centre had caused an unforeseen technical issue that lead to a very significant drop in its processing capacity.
“The current backlog is likely to temporarily affect and disrupt services and, unfortunately, at this stage we may not be able to provide a solution to avoid such a temporary disruption,” Roche said in a letter to UK customers.
Experts said the supply disruption was also affecting diabetes tests, magnesium level tests and other materials such as supplies for blood gas analysers which are crucial for the treatment of respiratory illnesses, including COVID-19.
Coincidentally, Marge and I have been talking about the behaviour of British yobs both on our streets and in their favourite haunts in Spain.
We were wondering whether any other European countries experience similar behaviour among their own people (third world immigrants excepted). We have never seen anything like it abroad anyway.
Could our traditional British yobbish behaviour account for these disturbing figures?
In relation to COVID-19 …
Yes, in relation to the spread of coronavirus.
Let’s see your evidence, then … because I fail to see any connection whatsoever …
You haven’t seen the reports of masses of drunks gathering on the streets, having been turned out of the pubs at closing time?
You haven’t seen them congregating in parks and on the beaches?
Where have you been?
Very true JB, completely ignoring all rules and restrictions.

Where have YOU been …
Good. So you agree with me then?
I never agree with “chat” …

UK Summary (Graph Version)
Hi
Yes cases are increasing, however we have to delve deeper than the overall figures.
Age Groups.
Very high infections in students in Freshers Week.
To be expected and they do not get ill or admitted to hospital except for the very few who have serious underlying health issues.
Infections in children in school.
To be expected, return to school is snotty nose time, colds etc, this is how they get immunity.
We cannot live in a sterile world, if we did we would never get antibodies which protect us.
I am elderly, over 65 and now in the most vulnerable group because of my recent heart attack etc.
I do not feel the need to shield neither do I feel the need to have lockdown and pubs close.
I do not do late night drinking, I do not party and on the very rare occasions I go to a pub it is a rural one where you have a good meal, good beer and full social distancing.
There is no way I would be in a town centre pub.
I live close to a School Entrance, loads of kids walking past every day, I just do not go out of the house at school opening or leaving times.
I go shopping, but choose my [places and times.
I do not go in the Supermarket if there are a lot of cars parked up.
Early when it is raining hard is the time to go.
I wear a mask whenever I am out and keep my distance.
My masks are high grade surgical ones, they protect me as well as others.
I have Sabina, my cleaner once a week, we are in rooms separately.
Nadi, one of the Pretendies came with her yesterday.
Wanted to see me, kept well distanced and wiped down everything she touched straight away.
Drilled into her at school.
I am content, I simply do not see the need for lockdown here.
I am more at risk on my hospital visits than I am in normal life.
Covid: Second national lockdown possible, says top UK scientist
Prof Peter Horby, chair of the New and Emerging Respiratory Virus Threats Advisory Group (Nervtag) and a government adviser, said the UK was at a “precarious point” as Covid-19 cases and hospital admissions continue to rise.
It comes after England’s deputy chief medical officer, Prof Jonathan Van-Tam, warned the country was at a “tipping point”.
Ministers say their local approach to restrictions is the right way forward. Later on Sunday, Boris Johnson will hold a call with cabinet ministers to update them on the next steps.
Will BJ get a grip … :?:
Swim the trouble is that not everyone elderly has the control you have over your immediate environment, visitors and family members. Some live with several generations who all behave at different levels of diligence when it comes to infection control. Some are under pressure to see visiting family even though they want to isolate. How do you tell people in your family to put on a mask when they visit and not get too close?
It’s not possible to control the behaviour of others that’s why the Government have to make these ridiculous rules. It’s socially awkward to move away from people. If everyone was sensible they would not have to, but so many are covidiots or think they know better. You see it in supermarkets etc. People with masks under their nose, under their chin, getting too close not washing hands. Bizarrely people taking their mask off to talk to others. It’s little wonder it’s spreading so fast.
Did you know that in Poland people have to present a medical certificate to Police if caught not wearing a mask in obligatory zones. In Spain this has been the policy since the first way and they have to wear masks in working environments all day. They were showing a news report on Indonesia where those who are caught with no mask have to do community service to prepare and tidy the graves of those who have died of the virus. They are also made to lie in an ambulance and wear an identifying orange jacket provided by police so others can see what they have done. In all these countries the police are involved in keeping the rules. We don’t have that here. That’s the problem.
