Why is Rula Lenska slumming it on the Street, is it coz of Ken, surely if Ken had had any oomph, given his background in teaching, he would have escaped to the country by now.
I’ve thought exactly the same myself.
My theory is that she’s a bit short of work (or money) and they’re doing her a favour for old times’ sake.
In any event, I see absolutely no purpose in her character in any of the storylines.

Another thing I notice, which I think may have been mentioned before, is that whenever a character has been absent for some reason (either explained in a storyline or perhaps never explained) they often return with a ‘different skin tone’!
A bit of pale make-up might be more convincing, or perhaps they could just write into the script that they’ve have a couple of weeks in Spain!
Rula’s Character does seem to spend a lot of time with Ken, and dishing out words of wisdom to Sinead. Get rid of both women I say.

Also Jude and his wife are rubbish characters, love Mary though, she can’t go.
