I was so pleased that Jack P Shepherd got best male actor on the British Soap Awards I watched the show with my pal Janet (his mum) and we were both in tears especially when he mentioned her in his acceptance speech.
I don’t really watch the soaps but I was surprised the Phelan plot didn’t get the best storyline it seemed everyone was talking about it.
Glad Corrors got best soap

Jack P Sheperd well deserved his award.
One thing that surprised me - there was no showing of the scene where Michelle’s baby had died. To my mind she should have got best actress for that.
It was absolutely heart breaking and had me in floods of tears. If anything deserved recognition, that did.
Well done to Pat Phelan and David Platt, they well deserved their awards, Coronation Street at its best!

Something that has been puzzling me over the last few weeks;
Gary Windass - Trained as a soldier and served in Afghanistan, after leaving the army took a job as a bodyguard in some remote lawless country. So I’m thinking quite a tough well trained squaddie…Yet, David Platt (A hairdresser) with no combat experience whatsoever knocks seven bells out of him at a charity boxing match, and furthermore, Pat Phelan has had the better of him on more than one occasion, including the last coming together of the pair when had it not been for the surprising arrival of his army buddy, he would probably be languishing at the bottom of a North Wales lake somewhere…Some tough guy…Would you employ him as a ‘Bodyguard?’…

I don’t think they should have put on TV the other night, that Tyler poisioning Ken’s dog Eccles, there’s a lot of Animals Lovers out here.
It might lead to copy-cat crimes too.
