Coronation Street

They seem to be shooting scenes of everything ugly these days.

Ms Oates is not very well liked if comments on FB/ED* are anything to go by.

ED (Entertainment Daily) puts up storylines/spoiles and then viewers put up their comments. Many think she is destroying the soap and wonder why she has this fascination for such ‘dark’ storylines. And apparently she arrogantly defended her ideas on a tv interview recently.

I just can’t wait for Phelan to get his comeuppance.

Coronation Street has always had a very successful mixture of exciting and humorous storylines. I do agree, though, that a ‘dark’ overcast has appeared in recent times. I wouldn’t mind the very occasional instance for the sake of interest, but I think that genre seems to be taking over. The same goes for PC-ism: far too much of it now.

And what about the Tyrone/Gemma fling?
What’s the betting the same old thing happens - Gemma finds she is pregnant!

As for that daft Clairvoyant who has just appeared and keeps giving Audrey info about ‘Alfie’, what was she in before, not that long ago?
Was it Corrie again or Emmerdale? She was quite deranged as I remember.
It’s driving me nuts because I remember her face.

She was with Phil Mitchell for a while in the other biggie!

That’s odd Rhian, as I almost never watch Eastenders, so that’s a puzzle. Was she a bit doo-lally in that, because that’s how I remember her.

Yes she absolutely was
Nearly killed herself and young Ben M
The trailers were on BBC all the time
You probably saw her on one of them

Ah, I expect you’re right Rhian, ta muchly.

I don’t know about Gemma getting pregnant, didn’t Fizz find a Condom or something in the bed?

I switched it off last night, I don’t want to see the aftermath of date rape, be it male or female. I watch some tv as in soaps for entertainment not education.

I must say, I hope this story line doesn’t drag on and on.

I know. I did watch it, but I think it makes most people feel a little sick. I’m now looking forward to seeing the rapist get his comeuppance.

Yes, the humorous content that used to make Coronation Street far better than the other soaps seems now to have given way to this sort of thing.

The farce that is Eva hiding her baby bump with cushions and her over-sized handbags so she can eventually hand the baby to Toyah is ridiculous.

I agree, Leia.
I bet half way through this pregnancy, Leia will suddenly find herself pregnant too. Then what would happen?

BTW, is Peter in on this, or does he know nothing about it yet?
How will his non-pregnant wife suddenly appear with a baby?

No Peter doesn’t know anything about it.

His non pregnant wife isn’t having the baby. They were using a surrogate who miscarried but Peter doesn’t know she miscarried.

I sincerely hope not Mups :lol:

I know you mean Toyah, don’t worry, I expect you’re right

Oooer, I do beg your pardon Leia.

Aah, thanks Sally.
