Coronation Street

Yes, and Yes to both comments in the last sentence Boot.
I guess they are aware they are doing it, are they?

I feel a bit mean but I really can’t stand the character, as you say she is very monotone and I don’t think she is a particularly good actress. Now her that plays Amy, well, she’s another story, the evil little cow just like her mother

Aren’t they portraying her as a quiet, rather unhappy little girl? I think such a person would tend to be quietly spoken and reticent.

Tribute to Manchester Arena bomb victims on extended set.

A brilliant idea.

I must say I agree with you JBR, I thought she plays the part well to be honest.
I think a little girl who lost her father then had the life and worry she has now, would hardly be bouncing about full of joy like a normal youngster. :102:

Perhaps, but I just don’t like the character, then again there are a lot of characters I don’t like when they first come into the show so I might feel differently later on but right now she makes me want to switch off. Coronation St isn’t as light hearted as it used to be and I quite miss that actually, one reason I totally switched off from Eastenders is because it was all doom and gloom.

Yes, I think you’re right. Even Sally, who was the butt of many jokes, has become all serious.

I believe that the humorous side of Coronation Street has been usurped by the PC content which, I think, entertains no-one except for a small minority.

Yep, I agree with the hi-lighted bit LQ. :023:

Glad we at least half agree hahaha:lol:

Bill Roache has returned to work after the loss of his daughter aged only 50. Very brave just a couple of weeks
Friday March 2.

So David Platt gets accosted/raped tonight by that other fella!

Whatever is Corrie coming to? :frowning:

It seems that their script writers have a one-track mind.

Perhaps they’re trying to convert us all!

I agree JBR. It does seem to be getting very overdone lately.

I have watched Coronation Street regularly and without missing an episode for more years now than I can remember.

However, this sort of thing is becoming quite off-putting. If I wanted to watch a recruiting programme for homosexuals I’d do so, but I don’t.

If things don’t improve I might have to seriously consider ditching the programme.

We will have to wait and see how this pans out with the critics and 'Gogglebox ’ lot.
I suspect there will be complaints.

Reading article about Sean Wilson aka Martin Platt he is a very successful chef and award-winning cheese maker. Never Knew that. :surprised:

13 years since he left, and says he’d be up for a longer stint if asked.

me too, I don’t think they need to have this rape storyline, we all know it goes on, its making for uncomfortable viewing for me personally and I really am not enjoying it, let me know when the storyline is done and I may switch back on!

I saw a mention in todays paper, and it seems the complaints have started.

The ‘boss’, Kate Oates is quoted as saying - “We’re doing it because we’re a drama. Men take in excess of 25 years to disclose when a male sexual assault happnes. This needs discussion.”

Does it? :102:

Ugh … sounds like I’m not missing anything.
Yes, we all know male rape happens but so soon after Bethany’s weird boyfriend/pimp storyline.

It’s David’s bad karma working itself out after burying Callum.
