Consumer v pro. camcorder

Just been resetting the “master DTL” on my panasonic HC-X1500, will run a couple of test with the new setting later on. initially new setting will be +15, so should prove interesting.

Nothing wrong using consumer camcorders but I hd a few issues with the Sony AX-53 version the main one being image stablisation and the way one setting affected the others. in my opinion it is ok for those who only want to use auto but nothing else.

Getting more into using a camcorder there is a huge leap even into a lowish priced pro camcorder . Mainly more control over settings and different terminology such a Knee mode -chroma levels drs effect to name a couple

to be honest I am still learning more features on the panasonic HC-X1500 and takeing it step by step with each feature i have not used yet

Perhaps you should have mentioned WTF “Master DTL” means? Is it a bird, is it a plane or is it a grandchild?

Then the post might have made some sense to forum members.

OK Bruce
it means Master Direct Through Lens. it is way of setting a lens up in a camcorder

Well, I for one would never have guessed that, never heard of it and I have a camcorder.
