I’m bored with hearing about it.
So am I Ripple! We can do nothing to alter how they vote & whoever wins, the press will find something they have done wrong to discredit them .
ITV currently run News reports from 6 to 7.30pm & are then back on at 10pm. The problem is that they keep repeating all the same news !
If there was no climate change or need for a new PM , all there would be is constant repeats of old programs !
Senior Tory declares support for Mordaunt
As the three remaining candidates jostle for support ahead of today’s final vote by MPs to determine who makes the run-off for Conservative leader, Penny Mordaunt has received another public endorsement.
Senior Conservative MP Sir Roger Gale tells the BBC he is backing Mordaunt, adding his main concern is making sure the Tory party members - who’ll vote for the next leader and UK prime minister from the run-off selected by MPs - get the two candidates they want most.
“One of those people, almost certainly I think, is going to be Rishi Sunak because the parliamentary party has made it clear they want him in the contest,” he says. But he adds that he believes the party “in the country” wants Mordaunt.
Before today, Sir Roger, who was been critical of Boris Johnson, hadn’t officially declared support for a single candidate, instead saying he’d “back one of the insurgents” - that is, Kemi Badenoch, Penny Mordaunt or Tom Tugendhat.
“Two of them have gone out of the race and we’re now left with Penny - that’s why I’ll be supporting her,” he says. “She’s got the courage and the integrity to do the job.”
I’m bracing myself for these results - it’s looking like Truss is likely to be in the top 2 candidates.
Results in full as Mordaunt eliminated
The results were:
Rishi Sunak - 137
Penny Mordaunt - 105
Liz Truss - 113
Sunak’s field is now clear then …
Penny’s out
Good grief…it’s like a bad laborious game of chess! So long and drawn out. Just get him in and stop playing around like its a serious effort of consideration.
But then Omah would be bored all through the summer.
Hardly …
As Lindsay Hoyle reminded us this morning, let’s not get personal with each other!
There’s enough political points to argue without getting in personal digs.
Hi
It is basically more of the same.
The floggings will continue until morale improves.
Truss is promising huge tax cuts, an economic illiterate when the cost of borrowing is rocketing.
Just playing to the gallery, anything to get the job.
Sunak has no idea how ordinary people live
No Swimmy you are wrong, low tax is good…
It’s good for worker morale, it gives incentive to produce more because you can keep more of what you earn which gives you greater spending power, which in turn generates more business and dynamism in the economy, which generates more investment which then in turn ultimately gives greater income to the treasury.
High tax equals low morale, lower productivity and less economic activity which leads to an ever downward spiral.
No brainer really…4
I agree with the comments (reason for signing) on this petition:
The prime minster of the United Kingdom was democratically voted in by the people of the UK, with a huge majority, yet 50 politicians, with the help of the media have over ruled that decision. We the people demand he is reinstated until such times, we the people , decide to vote him out.
Er…no he wasn’t though.
This is what I wrote:
It was always going to be Rishi.
Maybe he will surprise us.
Yesterday’s man … relegated to keeping CJ in a manner to which she has become accustomed …
This is a quote from the petition itself.
I think the petition starts off with a false premise.
In a General Election lots of people vote for the local MP based on the Party they are linked to - they do not vote for them depending on who the Party leader is.
The voters in my constituency voted for Rishi Sunak with a huge majority - they voted for Rishi when David Cameron was PM, they voted for him when Theresa May was PM, they voted for him when Boris Johnson was PM - he got a massive majority every time, so it was nothing to do with Boris Johnson’s leadership.
ditto all the other Tory MPs who have served under a number of different PMs.
I know lots of Tories who voted Tory, despite Boris being the Leader and not because he was the Leader.
I know some who voted Tory because Boris was promising them Brexit - because their priority was Brexit and he was standing on that Get Brexit Done platform - some voters had reservations about a Boris leadership but voted for what the Party manifesto promised.
So, yeah, some may have voted for their Tory Candidate for MP because they particularly supported Boris but to claim all Tory voters in the GE “voted for Boris” is forgetting how our voting process works.
Only the Conservative Party members can vote for a Party Leader and if the Tory Party MPs decide to unseat their leader, it is an internal Party matter and up to them to sort out.
I’m just wondering who this petition is addressed to and how the proposer thinks the demand can be fulfilled.

Did you actually read any of the comments?
As people obviously didn’t read the comments that I was talking about, this is a few of the thousands:
