Nice place for a coffee. Saturday morning, raining. Heater on.
Plenty of customers having coffee and… before their respective funerals.
Place is called Springvale Botanical Cemetery and the cafe is called Café Vita et flores. (Life and Flowers)
Waiting for the gates to open for the Grand Final?
Is the coffee “laced” with something? ![]()
Strange place for a cafe.
Just don’t get locked in…
Years ago my local crematorium were advertising for volunteers in their coffee shop … I was tempted to apply but couldn’t get over the fact how odd it seemed.
My kind of humour…unfortunately ![]()
Flower shop next door.
They sell ash browns for a breakfast snack.
I’ve never heard of any coffee shop, flower shop or other venues to sell anything in a cemetery. Not even an ad to visit a funeral parlor!
I don’t think it’s permitted within the grounds in the UK. I could understand if it’s outside the boundary. It’s not a recreation area.
Now you tell me!!
You could just sit there, enjoy a hot beverage and think outside the Box!!
I quite like the idea of being able to have a nice hot (and comforting) cup of tea or coffee before, or after, a funeral service, especially on a cold wet winters day.
Funerals mostly seem to be in winter time.
My local crem has one in the grounds and advertises on the internet … coffee, scones, cakes and sandwiches.
The online reviews on Tripadvisor say it’s a lovely, warm and friendly place to wait if you’ve travelled a long distance for the funeral, especially if you arrive early.
I guess that depends on your age.
No sausages then?
No pizza, pies nor toasted sandwiches? You’d think they could make use of the ovens.
Too much cleaning to do in between preps and orders! ![]()
I kid you not, but we went to a cremation a few years ago. After the service we were ushered outside where, on top of a bin, was a (clearly marked) ash tray. ![]()
