Chit Chat Thread (Part 2)

Morning all.

Hopefully it will happen one day, Carol. At least it is cancelled before the balloon gets airborne so they ARE being safety conscious.

Off for the cafe meet today.

Good morning all.
It was ok at the dentist yesterday. Although there is no visible infection but she took an X-ray and will pass it on to the person who does the inplants, and let me know. Also got a course of antibiotics.
Looks like I am in for more rain here, big clouds forming.
Just pulled some rhubarb that I shall cook later.

Have an engineer booked to check my drains, from the water company. Talking to neighbour and he said they needed Dynorod at his place of work and were charging something ridiculous per hour!

Anyway, they should be out within 24 hours,

Good morning all, sun is out.

We are off to Gorleston Town this morning, a bit of shopping to do, then to Morrison’s for Late Breakfast/Lunch.

Jazzi, hope the Engineer finds the problem.

Have a nice day all.

Morning all.

Engineer arrived about 7.45. I DID have a blockage, (thick black sludge) which he kindly cleared for me, but strictly speaking he shouldn’t have. Said it was not the water company’s area. I have to say, if anyone asks (though he was quite loud when speaking in my alley), that he gave advice only. My next door neighbours were in their garden and probably heard him saying it!

I’ll say a friend’s husband is coming round to do it! Lol. Nobody needs to know it is an imaginary friend.

Looks to be a nice day so reckon I should put in a stint over the allotment.

Good morning all.
It is very nice out at the moment, blue sky and a warm sun.
But will it last?
As usual for Wednesday, off the the coffee and chat later.
When I get back I will have to make a bread.
I picked up the Ukulele from Argos where it was delivered to, that I won on eBay.
Not as good as my others, but it works.

Good morning everyone, sunny start here too and rain not forecast until this evening, so a pleasant change to the weather of late.

No plans here so I’ll probably just do a bit of weeding in the fruit garden and pull the onions to start and dry them out.

Good to hear you got the drain problem sorted Jan, and cheap too!

Have a pleasant day folks

Good morning everybody.

I’m meeting my friend Chris shortly & we’re catching the Comet (fast bus) to Derby.
Hoping to visit Pickford House museum & do a bit of browsing round the shops.

We went for a meal with Ady & Paula last night & i was telling them I’ve changed my mind about going in the hot air balloon. It scared me a bit when the pilot was showing us how to,brace ourselves for the landing & mentioned it could drag us across the field. What am I playing at? Me with a trapped nerve in my back. It could make it worse!!

Anyway, Paula has taken the ticket off my hands & a new flight is scheduled for next Weds.

Have a good day all…

Carol, was the trip a gift? By your son and SiL? If so, it may have been a bit thoughtless on their part, (saying this kindly, not as a heavy criticism). Maybe as you rightly say, an adventure like that is not right for your health and body.

I have not ever done a balloon flight. I think I would like that.
My kids did book me an helicopter lesson for a birthday present. That was interesting and I did get to fly it. (already did power and gliders in my youth).

I’m glad you decided not to go Carol, as you said, it could make your back worse.

No I bought it myself. I was really keen to do it but when the pilot showed us how to brace ourselves for a tough landing I immediately went off the idea…

Morning all.

Shame about that, Carol. But obviously not for you. Not sure I would want to go up in one, either.

Yesterday afternoon, after feeding Holly, I decided to go to Tescos. Stocked up on a lot of stuff and also got petrol.

This morning is my nurse appt to discuss the recent blood test (results of which I already know: low iron and potassium). After that, time is my own. Reckon it’ll be too wet again for work on the allotment. We have just had more rain.

Good morning all.
Damp and cloudy here and had a lot of rain in the evening and night.
Problems down the road with my daughters in-laws. He is not very well. He has been on a home dialysis for a while. A bit of a drama yesterday evening. Son in-law Is going to take him to the hospital this morning. They did not want to phone for an ambulance yesterday. (Should have in my opinion.)
This afternoon I might go to the quiz at the AgeUK. Tea and cake supplied.

Good morning everyone, rain all night here too but cleared now and the sun is trying to break through.

Off to Mum’s shortly to do a bit of weeding for her and to take her some runner beans, which are her favourite.

Hope you all have a good day. :slightly_smiling_face:

Good morning everybody.

I should have been packing now in readiness for our weekend break at Warners Holiday Hotel tomorrow.

Unfortunately it has been cancelled due to two of the lifts being under maintenance. Tony & I didn’t fancy climbing three flights of stairs so we requested a refund. I was hoping they would find us an alternative room - maybe one of the better ones at no extra cost but they didn’t!

Daughter Karen is coming to see us this afternoon so that will be nice.

No other plans…

Sorry to hear that’s been cancelled Carol, I know how much you enjoy your Warners breaks.

Yes I’m sorry to hear that too, Carol. Hope another break can be booked soon for you.

Nurse appt went ok. She has booked me for another blood test on Monday, and given a new, additional inhaler. If no improvement after 3 weeks, she will do an ENT referral.

I did a big shop again, this time in Asda. Just enjoying a cuppa, will walk Holly then have a bread roll for lunch. A frozen pie, mash and liquor meal for supper. Yum.

Sorry to hear of your cancellation Carol, hope you find somewhere else to go.

Morning all, a bit cloudy here.

Got my washing out on the line, so hope it does not rain.

Off to do our weekly shopping at 8am.

Have a nice day all.
