Whenever I’ve had chips anywhere in Europe,they always have mayonnaise on them.That’s OK
The first time I ever tasted mayonnaise was when I was about 11 in Belgium on some frites (only salad cream up to then!)
I thought it was the most amazing thing ever!
I don’t know what a “Big Tasty” is … ?
When I was a kid, my siblings and I practically lived on egg and chips, or if we couldn’t afford eggs, it was just chip butties - we were far too refined to call them chip butties, though - my Mum used to put a big plate of chips and a plate of bread and margarine on the table and tell us we were having a “Communal Chip Dinner” !
