In some ways I think lockdown showed what and who are really important to you and what’s not

There were the ridiculous and daft friends and family who kept in touch, no matter what or how! Zoom meetings even though they are rubbish at computers, phone calls, walking past the window and waving, surprises in the post, socially distanced walks and picnics. One cousin in particular I was surprised at how much effort he put in to keep in touch

And then there were others that just faded away and I don’t think I’ll make any effort to pick up with them when things ease up

The same with activities. I used to belong to a lot of groups and clubs and I was surprised how little I missed them! I don’t think I’ll bother to go back to most of them except my fellow sea swimmers, we kept swimming all through

And I’ve got to appreciate the local shops a lot more. We’ve got a lovely butcher just round the corner to me who’s been a lifeline and I’ll definitely keep using him
