Carrie Symonds and the Gold Wallpaper

Did some people really believe that REAL gold wall covering was being considered? I mean REALLY? Something described metaphorically taken as being LITERAL?

Please someone, tell me that there is no-one that bloomin’ STUPID.

The Electoral Commission is to investigate the PM’s flat renovation.

The Electoral Commission has launched a formal investigation into the funding of Boris Johnson’s Downing Street flat refurbishments.

The watchdog has been in contact with the Conservative Party since March over works the PM carried out to No 11.

But it has just announced it is “satisfied that there are reasonable grounds to suspect that an offence or offences may have occurred”.

So, where there is smoke, there may be fire …

BJ won’t like his “affairs” being investigated … :091:

I don’t suppose he will, TOUGH!

Is this the same commission that raided the Brexit Party offices and found nothing, the same one that hounded Darren Grimes and whose finding were overturned in court because they got it wrong?

You win some, you lose some …

The Electoral Comission don’t have a record of winning very much though.

Yes, why not ??
Certain people even have gold plated Kharsi’s so why not gold
plated aluminium foil wallpaper ??

 Donkeyman!

At that price, I would blinkin’ hope so!

PMQs now:

Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer raises reports that Lord Brownlow was asked to donate £58,000 around the time the renovations started.

Boris Johnson says he thinks he has “answered this question many times” and he has covered the costs “in full” for the refurbishment.

Another “inaccuracy” from BJ … :?:

I don’t remember any PM getting a bill of that magnitude for changes to Downing Street … :017:

ETA It may well be PMQs but there are no PMAs - BJ is beating around the bush …

BJ was so rattled and angry at the despatch box in his final answer to Starmer that he was red faced and ranting at the end.

He denied his “bodies” quote again, and still didn’t answer the central question about his Downing Street flat - who picked up the bill at the start.

BJ was pressed for simple answers on specifics but responded with evasive denials and counter-attacks on multiple fronts, including housing and council tax, the European Medicines Agency and ventilators, even ithough they were nothing to do with the question being asked.

Whoever thought that the fairy story " Carrie and the the saga of
the golden wallpaper" would ever become a best seller ???

Donkeyman!

In other words as I’ve said before he hasn’t been “caught out” as some people were hoping he would be then?

I think that your lofty estimation of some peoples’ capabilities may be too high TAT.

I DON’T CARE…I DON’T CARE…I DON’T CARE,

Did I say I couldn’t care less?..well I couldn’t,

I’d rather see what was in His knicker drawer (but Methinks He doesn’t wear any)

Thank god I have already had my lunch .
The thought of Boris and his lunch box is just too revolting .

Just spat my coffee out! I cannot unthink that thought now…jeez, Muddy!

Indeed it was:

At Prime Minister’s Questions, Boris Johnson and Labour leader Keir Starmer clashed over the controversial refurbishment of the DowningStreet flat where the prime minister is living.

Mr Johnson said: “I’d rather not spend taxpayers’ money, by the way, like the last Labour government, which spent £500,000 of taxpayers’ money on the Downing Street flat”.

The figures for annual spending appear in a parliamentary answer from a Cabinet Office minister.

So, no “offences” committed - all allowances used as permitted - just BJ “lying” again - he just can’t stop himself …

This is getting so boring, there are more important things going on in world to worry about.

Not many and in this forum these are frequently non-UK residents or those with an axe of some sort or another to grind.
Pretty much like those determined to imagine what doesn’t really exist and try to convince others it’s a problem when in fact it isn’t, or those that do insist upon posting the daily Covid-related statistics that hardly anybody reads because the information is freely available and even broadcast daily.

The majority of ordinary people don’t care.
Not just because it is such blatant muckraking but because it has absolutely no effect on people whatsover.
What does matter is that we can look forward to moving on with our lives with the risk of death from a virus now greatly reduced, thanks in no small part to those being targetted in ridiculous smear campaigns.

PMQs earlier:

During their heated exchanges, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said to Labour Leader Sir Keir Starmer: “Last night, our friends in the European Union voted to approve our Brexit deal, which he opposed.”

If the prime minister is referring to the vote in the House of Commons that followed the deal then that is not correct.

The vote took place on 30 December and was backed by the Commons by 521 to 73 votes after Parliament was recalled.

The Labour leader voted in favour of the legislation on the agreement as did the vast majority of Labour MPs.

Another “inaccuracy” from “Blustering” BJ … serial liar, serial breacher, serial womaniser, etc. … :!:
