Can society get any more silly?

Yes it can.
An industrial tribunal has ruled that calling a man bald amounts to sexual harrassment.
So what do all you baldies here think about this?:smiley::smiley:

Blimey the world gets crazier
one thing good about baldness
its neat

At least he doesn’t have to pay fortunes to have his hair cut.

Some men look quite sexy bald.

So what do you call them for goodness sake? Hairless? Smooth Scalped? Follicle challenged?

Oh wait, maybe you aren’t supposed to call them anything
just as you aren’t supposed to define them by gender
in fact, maybe we should all go around not noticing or commenting on anything at all.

Honestly, how much further are we going to have to go to appease the serially offended? It has already got beyond ridiculous, now we’re plumbing the hysterically ludicrous depths.

What a weird case, it really does show the way society is at the moment, in 20 years time, it could feature in history lesson!

My first thought was, he’s got a problem with being called bald, but not with being called a c***?

The way word for a woman’s genitals is still the worst ever swear word shows gives a good clue to how women are thought of in 2020 and is probably a lot more sexist than being “baldist”

There’s more to it of course, there always is

On his side, health and safety issues over the cover, bad language, threats to “deck him” and intimidation.

Plus they dismissed him for misconduct after just two days, despite him working there for 24 days

On the employers side, he got together with his son, a policeman, and wrote complaint about the incident on official police notepaper and gave it to Mr Finns employer, which they thought was trying to bully them

The judge said they should have waited for an outcome to the employers complaint to the police about using the notepaper before sacking him

I suspect the son is going to be in big trouble but you can understand him wanting to back his dad

I think the saying “bald” insults are sexist is stupid

But that he did have a good case for unfair dismissal in the other issues

The Metro is part of the Daily Mail, also running the story.

So, in their usual style, they’re going to focus on winding their readers up about the anti woke part and working everyone into the usual anti woke feeding frenzy.

They know their audience and what gets them readers

And no emphasis on the whole verdict, which was:

“Mr Finn won claims of unfair dismissal, wrongful dismissal, being subjected to detriments and sex harassment”

Which I agree with apart from the sex harassment part :+1:

Agreed Pixie, describing someone is a thing of the past.

I agree, Pixie.
We should all put blinkers on before we go out the door, and ear plugs so we don’t hear anything, gloves so we don’t feel anything, and gorrilla tape our gobs so’s we’re not tempted to say anything.
Maybe then, we will be acceptable to the world.

Just had a funny thought . . . wouldn’t it be interesting if the police asked us for a description of a criminal? Wonder how they’d react if we said we couldn’t possibly say.

That is really interesting
crime would go through the roof because criminals couldn’t be identified
it would all be " A person of undisclosed gender, undisclosed age, undisclosed height
" :joy:

Can you imagine a ‘Wanted’ poster?
There’s just be a mug shot of a blank square.

And another thing . . how would you describe someone in a burka I wonder?

It might be described as “religious attire”
? Not too descriptive to be identifiable, but enough to acknowledge that a person has faith and religion in their life, so nobody could be accused of dismissing their beliefs?. :woman_shrugging:

And undisclosed colour
and Hairstyle.

It would be interesting to see how the police liked it when we refused to give a description of a criminal incase we used words that might upset them - like big, or fat, or bald, or heaven forbid - black!

Forgot those, yep
oh wait, you can’t mention hairstyles because some people may not have hair
which neatly brings it back to topic, Thanks Foxy for helping to do that!

I’m sure I read somewhere that the police were being told not to use words like husband, or wife, when talking about a couple. It has to be partner or spouse if you were married. So imagine the confusion that would reign if your husband or wife went missing, say, and the police had to write out a report.

What I want to know is why some TL3 who may or may not be bald, may or maybe not be overweight may or may not be gender specific has not corrected my tags for this thread as I just pick anything.

A violation of dignity, crikey!
What about ginger, ginge, red hat, freckles and dozens of other names I used to get called, could I get compensation for mental anguish? Backdated naturally!:sweat_smile::sweat_smile:
