Can society get any more silly?

A TL3 forum member of a specific designation may or may not wish to cause offence in changing your tags, because you chose them, and to change them or correct them would be going against your free will.

That seems very fair because as you say I did chose them admittedly arbitrarily and to change them without my expressed permission could lead to me suffering mental health issues relating to rejection.

But then you’d have to wait at least 5 years for a GP appointment, and then 10 years for any counselling - unless you could afford to pay of course.

I was thinking more like Jason Straitham.

 I’d change them if I knew how just to see some of that!

Suggestions anyone?

“Slap head” “cue ball” “barrack room lawyer” “can’t be arsed with tags”

Perhaps I should start a poll?

With all this criticism of the tag facility I can feel a ‘slow mo’ coming on my thread.

what I don’t get is when I hear of ridiculous news like this, everyone comes out saying how ridiculous it is and there is a public outcry about it, YET still the woke idiots win. What’s that about?

Maybe in the future evolution will see us being born without mouths, eyes and ears then no one can be offended. Stupid statement I know but what the heck, that’s what it feels like.

I’m fed up of being made to feel like a bad person because I have my own views that differ from the woke culture.

I agree, Queenie
I think we should all be offended at the fact we are causing offence by the people who find these words offensive.

Blimey if that statement doesn’t say "I’ve had too much coffee already" I don’t know what will! :joy:

Thank you, Mr Fraggle, but I’ll stick with Yul!

I was thinking something somewhat stronger.:smiley::smiley::smiley:

C’mon, say what you mean so I can take offence at your accusations! :joy:

I think the crux of this case was that the term “bald” was not being used merely as a descriptive word but as an insulting phrase, teamed with the “c” word and delivered by his boss in an intimidating manner - that’s a very different kettle of fish to just describing someone as bald.

Without knowing all the ins and outs of the case, it’s hard to say for sure but it sounds like there was wrongs on both sides - his employers say he wasn’t doing the job satisfactorily but they didn’t deal with disciplining him correctly and lost their temper and insulted him - then they jumped the gun by dismissing him before their complaint to the police about him mis-using police headed paper was dealt with - he used both these errors as an opportunity to claim unfair dismissal and claim compensation.

The employer should have considered the possible repercussions before they acted so hastily.
When I worked in HR, I remember how easy it was for shirkers and unsatisfactory workers to claim unfair dismissal if the employer didn’t follow the proper procedure before sacking someone.
Many a time, it was galling to see a blatant shirker drawing a salary while you went through all the stages needed to get rid of them but if you lose your temper or try to short-cut the process, you’re handing them a way of making more even money out of the Company by claiming unfair dismissal.

Are you bald by any chance?

Thanks Mr Fraggle for putting up photo.

No @MrFraggle67 , I am not bald - but I don’t see why that is relevant to the employment tribunal we were commenting on.

If I was bald, I would try to come to terms with it but I wouldn’t consider it a laughing matter - and I may not take offence if some rude person called me a “bald person” - but I would definitely take offence if they called me a “bald c***” !
Unless the C word was “Coot” , which I wouldn’t object to!

Dear Benny Hill, miss the fun shows he made.

I was just thinking how awful he was especially in this clip !
Humour has changed what we used to find funny .
Remember all those terrible carry on films and Till Death is do part .
Not to mention child abuse in Billy Bunter .
Maybe I’m more ‘woke’ now .

It seems that the police are not considered to do their job properly
not surprising when witnesses are not allowed to give a realistic description of the person they saw committing a crime!
