from the heart of his bottom
When will the super successful Truss join Farage’s Reform(ing the Tory) party?
The mind boggles…there’s almost something of The Monty Python about it!
The establishments attempt at making him look as bad as possible to the public, in reality, they are frightened of him and his party…With good reason…

What people are frightened of is Farage leading the country with the same insights, skills and honesty that he brought to Brexit. Oh, with a splash of MAGA mindset thrown in for good measure. Wonder which billionaire ego Farage would pick to lead a shabby UK version of DOGE (waving a blunt pen knife rather than a chainsaw)? Whoever, it will be even more of a failure than Musk’s efforts have proven to be.
Hi
Farage’s economic plans are as stupid as those of Boris and Truss.
Just another pie in the sky fantasy.
What we need is reality, not fantasy.
The UK is now rotten to the core, privatisation has not worked, we pay more for less and the profits go abroad.
We have tens of thousands of houses without water.
The CEO of the company is getting a £400k bonus this year, not linked to performance, he is just guaranteed to get it.
absolute stupidity
Farage at the helm?
It’d be like trying to douse a house fire with petrol.
We are seeing the results of a protest vote now. How many voters checked the details in the manifesto before ticking that box?
What do you really know about Reform’s plans for running the country? How will they finance those plans? It’s much easier poking fun at the government in power than doing it well themselves. They are a one man band and he doesn’t want to be PM.
So if not Farage then who?
Or do we just continue with the two party malarkey?
In reality though, it doesn’t matter who you vote for, or why. The pendulum only swings two ways… ![]()
I don’t know Foxy…that’s the question ![]()
Trump or Putin are looking good to me… ![]()
If you are frustrated by the two party set up (some might say stitch up) then the one practical thing to support is a change to proportional representation and ditching first past the post. The archaic and unrepresentative FPTP system actively promotes a two party set up. UK politics would benefit hugely from a fairer and more balanced system.
Hi
The whole thing just makes me sad.
I look at at other countries in Europe and they manage to get things to work, trains, trams, water, electricity and all cheaper than we pay for.
Far better health services, much quicker treatment, better educated children.
The Polish used to flood here for work, now Poland is about to overtake the UK in quality of life.
We may have a big Economy but the money is not going the ordinary people.
We are having a cost of living crisis.
We should be able to do something about it.
I used to like Farage … then I became dissollusioned.
And compared to Trump, … he still looks marginally better. Just.
But seeing Farage mentioned in the same post as Trump made me wonder - if he were PM what would Farage do about Trump’s crazy claims on Greenland? It seems easy to predict that the would-be-mini-Trump would definitely not stand up to his bestie. Farage would go all isolationist - not my business, problem for Denmark - and all Trump justification - the US has real defense reasons, etc. He certainly would not make me proud to British and European.
It’s academic at the moment, but if that was Farage’s intention when his party take power at the next GE I would vote for him on that point alone. The UK is in the state that it is because we are too busy fighting other peoples wars and not looking after our own affairs.
Nice to know that you share my expectations of how Farage would bend to the will of Trump - and no doubt Putin as well. And there was me thinking that all the talking up of the UK back in days of the Brexit referendum (6th biggest economy, major world player, establish our rightful place at the top table) was meant to imply that the UK was more than just the lap dog to power crazy egos in other countries. Nope, it was all empty words (again) from Farage and his acolytes.
If nothing else this wrangle over the fate of Greenland could be destined to drive us back into Europe’s arms.
Brexit is/was a dead done deed but the UK is going to have to start thinking of our own future alliances … I certainly wouldn’t USA anymore.
A harsh reality perhaps?
But yes, and how anybody can still wax lyrical about Trump is totally beyond me.
We need a real leader, one with both a spine and vision, a big ask! ![]()
AND. Closer to Home.
The Irish used to flood here. NOW. Quality of Life. Is 2nd in Europe. After Luxembourg.
