Brexit benefits - where are they?

Lets add in a post-Brexit lie:
The fresh veg shortage is due to bad weather in Spain / North Africa / Uranus.
No its not. I can tell you for certain it is not.

“ Leaving the EU is like coming out of an abusive relationship, says ALEX STORY”

No idea who Alex Story is - but has he ever really been in an abusive relationship?
What a flippant and insensitive headline.
Ask anyone who has really been in an abusive relationship and I reckon they’ll tell you that being in the EU was a walk in the park in comparison to being stuck in a personal abusive relationship.

Another benefit of Brexit is the demonstrable rejection of socialism and its ideology by the UK, the country who invented democracy.

(I think thats the real reason Strathmore is so upset / drunk).

There is nothing wrong with Socialism (or Capitalism) in principle

It was supposed to, unfortunately we were still bound to the CFP which is why it hasn’t. That and the number of flag boats.

the reason I voted for brexit is that I did not want foreign countries to dictate how we live or under their laws which may be alien to us. I could even see them trying to make us drive on the wrong side of the road as they do. We are totally different being an island race , not a sausage or garlic or even a spaghetti eating one .
Imagine a yorkshire pudding being called a Paris pudding or a Cornish pastie being called a Roman roll. It is unthinkable. No we have or ways and food developed for our way of living.
We held onto the English pound not the foreign Euro cash system, we have kept the right to drive on the left. We have taught the world to learn English as a second language, there is no reason why we can’t teach the Europeans to change over to our way and standard of living for the better. Remember we did not start the first or second world war, they did

The pacific trade agreement means that it is not foreign governments who decide standards, it is foreign companies. That is the opposite of taking back control.
Now as for the rest of your post - jeeps, get a grip.

Actually that is not true, imports have to comply with the standards and regulations for such goods made by the government or government departments.

You are wrong ,a companies standard in a foreign company may not comply with the standards set by the appropriate UK government . It is you that needs to get a grip . We accept bent bananas, EU countries insisted in the past they were straight, a typical example of the brainless way they think. Give me steak pie and mushy peas anytime, how on earth could one get excited over a plate of frogs legs and snails they crave for in France

Hi

There should have been many benefits from leaving, however our Politicians have messed it up.

If our Politicians had been better, there where also many benefits to be had from staying in.

Nothing wrong with socialism, capitalism is evil in principle

The promised benefits from leaving were all deliberate lies from the snake oil salesman Brexiters, they were never possibilities

There were never any benefits to be had so it’s not surprising at all that we’re not seeing any and the Brexit supporters are full of excuses

Because they are the ones who condemned us to a diminished future and are trying to wriggle out of the blame

I’ll have a pint of Whelks thanks…

Served straight from the boat, yummy. Health and safety would not allow this now. They were delicious.

I’d suggest that you read up on the details of the trans-pacific trade agreement. This agreement is not a one-time set of rules, but rather gives corporate lobbyists permanent power to force governments to lower standards over time. The body that determines these target rules and standards is a corporate focused body which will meet behind closed doors. As well immediately having to accept lower environmental standard in some of the trade agreement countries (and be bound to accept such goods under the trade agreement) the agreement gives scope to oblige the UK to increase or decrease standards (guess which way they will go) - and have no say in this.
And what on earth has your constrained gastronomic tastes got to do with anything?

As someone who voted for Brexit, I can’t see one benefit we have achieved from leaving, the whole episode has been a complete disaster for our country.
I could give a long list of the disadvantages of our leaving that have become evident but I would be here all day .

Anyone for rejoining, add me to the list.

Maybe you don’t know but we have the English Channel between us and Europe not the Pacific Ocean. So the " trans-pacific trade agreement" has nothing to do with Brexit. That came afterwards as a result of us leaving the EU.

If Socialists assume all people are created equal, they’re nuts.

People have all sorts of different standards and abilities.

That’s why people get interviewed, for jobs, to get the best skill matches, etc…
