I took the question at face value and answered it.
I have seen threads before which look to me as if they are attempting to bait folk into entering a contentious discussion, so I understand what you mean by “bait” - but if it’s a discussion I don’t want to have, I try not to give the baiter the satisfaction of a response so I try to resist the temptation to take the bait - better to ignore the thread and move on instead of being caught on the hook, in my opinion.

Agree with what you say, Boot,
However, when I see anything which suggests that a Wind Up Merchant (Wum) has dropped in I get suspicious.
Indicators include very recent in joining a Forum, majority of posts being in the controversial Topics,
I think that new posters, more often, try the easier Topics first.
Luckily, in some Forums you can look at the posting history & come to your own conclusions.
I’m not accusing anyone of anything, just explaining what my experience warns me of.

I had forgotten about the EU flags on number plates. I wonder what the criteria was for them. They only seem to appear sporadically.
There was no criteria or requirement for the EU stars on a number plate. I’ve two cars registered in France - so four number plates in total. Not a single set of EU stars to be seen on any of them. I would be quite happy to have the EU flag on my number plate - it is not “the flag of another country”. It is the flag for all countries in the EU. I never understood the problem. After all you will have the Union Jack and the flag of St George. Two flags that you recognise.

But all this is trivial nonsense , scraping the barrel in order to find a ‘benefit’.
There are no benefits to Brexit. None have been identified. Again, when asked the simple question “what are the benefits?” the only replies are flannel, mis-direction and silly individual shouts “I got to stick to fingers up to Brussels” or similar.
I do not understand why Brexit supporters are not honest with us and themselves on this. A simple statement of “ok, no big benefits, but personally I feel good about leaving” would be good. You can’t challenge that.

There aren’t any great financial benefits to Brexit.
The World has changed since COVID.
The priority is not free trade, it is protection of home industry and shortening supply chains.
We will not be getting Trade Deals with the USA or India.
Truss has promised a big change shortly with deregulation and an increase in work permits, which means more immigration.
We are the only member of the G7 doing this.’
I am not happy that two TL3’s are policing this thread. They should be neutral in their views but it is fairly obvious their views are biased.
It has really made me want to leave this forum as it has really soured my enjoyment of the forum.
