America had been sending a number of different items into what had been agreed to be a defacto demilitarised area for years. Added to that a treaty was in place - the Minsk agreement - whereby the ethnically Russian people especially in the Donbas region and The Crimea would not be subjected to ongoing violence from the Western Ukrainian terrorist attacks. Ukraine had for years been reneging on this treaty and agreement.

Russia / Ukraine tension has been going on for 1000 years. Kiev was once the capital of Russia! That just shows how complex the situation is.
Zelenskyy should never have dragged us into this, he should have sorted it out himself. This shouldn’t be a world problem. but it is now.

After 50s years of cold war, the making of some wonderful dramas btw, what PM could fail to please the press with the anti Russia stance and knee jerk reaction? Of course, the invasion of Ukraine can never be justified, but it wouldn’t have happed if it wasn’t for Zelenskyy anticipating our support.

So putin uses a poison that points directly back to him, and a poison that takes weeks to kill it’s victim, giving the western media weeks of good anti Russian propaganda. Anyone with half a brain can see that this was a set up, probably by our own, or American security services, to prime the public and cultivate hate toward Russia for the fiasco that what was to come. Next, we needed to finance a nob head to take control of the Ukraine and provoke Putin into taking a stance over the liberties that the west were taking so close to the Russian border.

I spose, but only because Russia and Assad eliminated the
opposition first, there’s only supporters of Assad left to do
the voting !! The surviving opposition voters are all living in
refugee camps in Turkey and elsewhere !!
