America had been sending a number of different items into what had been agreed to be a defacto demilitarised area for years. Added to that a treaty was in place - the Minsk agreement - whereby the ethnically Russian people especially in the Donbas region and The Crimea would not be subjected to ongoing violence from the Western Ukrainian terrorist attacks. Ukraine had for years been reneging on this treaty and agreement.
@ MrMagoo, Exactly that Mr M, He had to have his Churchill
moment all he needs is a cigar !!
Donkeyman !!
Russia / Ukraine tension has been going on for 1000 years. Kiev was once the capital of Russia! That just shows how complex the situation is.
Zelenskyy should never have dragged us into this, he should have sorted it out himself. This shouldn’t be a world problem. but it is now.
Yes but in Dorris’s case stuck where the sun don’t shine and lit end first.
Especially so because BF Dorris stuck his nose in.
After 50s years of cold war, the making of some wonderful dramas btw, what PM could fail to please the press with the anti Russia stance and knee jerk reaction? Of course, the invasion of Ukraine can never be justified, but it wouldn’t have happed if it wasn’t for Zelenskyy anticipating our support.
@The_Artful_Todger , lve been looking this up, and what it said
was the trouble kicked off AFTER the collapse of the the USSR??
So presumably all was honkey dorey before that ?
So how did peaceful regions suddenly become enemies AFTER
the collapse ?
What prompted the people to become enemies !!
Donkeyman!
@d00d ,Do you really believe Zelensky would be relying on
piss willy UK for real support dOOdy ???
I can’t see it !
Donkeyman!
Think Czechoslovakia. Not a perfect analogy but a good start.
He was expecting NATO or America. Fool Borris stuck his nose in. He should not have.
No. But I mean the western world, they love to hate/distrust Russia.
Indeed and this cycle brought on by Barack Hussein Obama after Russia saved Syria from being overrun by Islamic terrorists so scotching Obama’s intent of seeing the Green Crescent round The Med.
@The_Artful_Todger , Russia saved Assad from being deposed
by the majority of his population Todger !! You really are so
naive ?? The Islamists were actually very few !!
If Russia had not intervened Syria might have been a democracy
now ??
Donkeyman!
So putin uses a poison that points directly back to him, and a poison that takes weeks to kill it’s victim, giving the western media weeks of good anti Russian propaganda. Anyone with half a brain can see that this was a set up, probably by our own, or American security services, to prime the public and cultivate hate toward Russia for the fiasco that what was to come. Next, we needed to finance a nob head to take control of the Ukraine and provoke Putin into taking a stance over the liberties that the west were taking so close to the Russian border.
Russia did in six months what the combined forces of Britain and America couldn’t do in six years Donkeyman.
Syria is a democracy. Or at least as near a democracy as any state except Israel in the region.
@OldGreyFox , yeebbut Russia don’t have hordes of human
rightists taking them to court every move they make OGF ?
Donkeyman!
@The_Artful_Todger ,You could say Syria is a democracy
I spose, but only because Russia and Assad eliminated the
opposition first, there’s only supporters of Assad left to do
the voting !! The surviving opposition voters are all living in
refugee camps in Turkey and elsewhere !!
Donkeyman!
I just live in hope that, all these factions are shitting in the same pot, which, if this is the case, stability will return.
Sorry, substitute “Shared Interests”.
