The Grade 1 listed home belongs to JCB chairman Lord Bamford who has given some £14 million in cash and gifts to the party since 2001.
Sources suggested the Tory peer, who backed Mr Johnson’s leadership bid in 2019, was covering at least some of the the cost of the party.
Mr and Mrs Johnson are understood to have organised a marquee in the 1,500-acre grounds where guests will be wined and dined before dancing the night away.
The close links between Mr Johnson and the billionaire Bamford family saw the PM visit the JCB factory in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire during the 2019 election campaign.
In January 2019, while he was brooding on the backbenches plotting his path to No10, Mr Johnson made his “comeback” speech at JCB headquarters.
The firm paid him £10,000 just three days before he delivered his address, which was peppered with references to the company and its diggers.
During the pandemic, the Johnsons dined in style thanks to a secret £12,500 gourmet food supply from Daylesford organic, which is owned by Lady Bamford.
A heaving box of shopping from Daylesford – one of the most expensive food stores in Britain which is favoured by celebrities including Hugh Grant – was delivered weekly to Downing Street with a bouquet of flowers.
In addition, pre-prepared meals were dropped off at lunchtime on weekdays by the same delivery man, prepared by Mr Johnson’s Daylesford ‘personal chef’.
In the run-up to last May’s local elections, the PM used the JCB tycoon’s £47million Gulfstream 650 private jet and helicopter to tour the country campaigning.
Meanwhile, Mary is heading out to her second part time job of the day, leaving her 15 year old son in charge of his siblings, with promises to go to the foodbank later for their dinner…
It’s nice to have wealthy friends who are happy to give you a holiday or a lavish party but when you’re an MP, you have to be careful about accepting favours from rich business people and Party donors, in case it looks like you’re doing a bit of “quid pro quo” - he’s not the first MP to do it and he won’t be the last but, during his time in office, BoJo seems to have milked the freebies on offer with particularly dedicated zeal.
I must admit, I thought BoJo and Carrie were already married.
He does like to get his snout stuck right in than trough
The worrying part is, what do these wealthy Tory sponsors expect to get back back for doling out the freebies?
Tories are quick to point out the Funding link between Labour and the Unions. But the link between Johnson and the rich donors and Russian oligarchs, not so much
This is what bugs me, how many other politicians and wealthy people do this all the time, so why are the media making such a big thing about it just because it’s Boris.
Now tell me that the media isn’t bias. The whole lot of them want shutting down. No news is better than biased news.
I bet even the overpaid sods at the mirror are probably doing the same thing.
Of course Muddy, when I woke up this morning and was planning my day I thought…I know what I’ll do, I’ll spend all day searching through the news articles to find out how many rich couples were enjoying weddings at millionairs mansions…
He got rather a large majority at the general election Omah (not helped by me I hasten to add) and he seemed just the tonic that country needed after those two feeble enders, May and Cameron were dispatched. But like all the previous PM’s and promising politicians, it seems he was got at and ran out of steam. There seems to be something much bigger steering this ship.
Ah yes, the Tory donor Bamford. Fair enough, a British manufacturing success story. He can donate whatever he wants as he wants. That is fine.
What is not so appealing about Bamford is that he absolutely not going to wind back is investments and businesses in Russia. Many other companies are looking at the Ukraine invasion and Putin’s behaviour and thinking - hold on, we should not be associated with this. But Bamford is absolutely sticking to the JCB money tree that is Russia.
So the west can talk about sanctions against Putin’s Russia but while businesses continue to endorse Russia that all seem like, shall we say, a mixed message to Putin. After Ukraine expect Putin to roll into the Baltic states.
