Bodyguard - new series

@Floydy,

Some relevant points.
However, not all by any means are ex forces / Police. Many are civilians who have undergone extensive specific training.

Assignments vary hugely.
Some are utterly mundane where neither you or the employer are in any danger whatsoever. Sometimes they are simply an expensive fashion accessory to promote the illusion of self importance.

However, some are extremely dangerous where you may not come out alive or uninjured.

Many people confuse minders with bg’s - they are chalk & cheese.
Minders are normally larger guys, there for the muscle and intimidation. Bg’s are generally highly trained pro’s, who rely just as much on brains / experience, and unarmed combat training of varying types.

That’s right, Fender. More good points there to back up my explanation. There certainly are many types of bodyguard indeed.

Someone at work mentioned this today. I will have to watch it on catch up.

I’m loving it . Watched both episodes today .

P.S . I went out on a few dates with a real bodyguard a number of years ago …he was a handsome bloke too .

We have just watched the first two episodes, recorded whilst we were away, and I have to say that I found them gripping. I haven’t seen such an exciting series for quite a while now.

Richard Madden, David in The Bodyguard will now go far.
Perhaps the next James Bond?

Apparently, he also has had problems in his own love life too.

I have been watching Game of Thrones for weeks now but had no idea he was in it.

He’s an impressive actor, though I don’t see why every man and his dog that suddenly appears in a big drama on TV has be be “tipped for the next James Bond”.:017:

He has no chance. Apparently, the next James Bond is required to be black.

It doesn’t fit in with the original novels, of course, but PC-ism knows no bounds today.

It’s actually been decided that the part will be given to Di Abbott. Black & female - ticks all the boxes.
To be even more pc, they did away with the intelligence aspect as well (that part of the role, I’m sure she’ll excel)

Our legendary rugged secret agent will probably be a raging LGBTQiqwertyuiop screaming queen adorned with pink and yellow ribbons at this rate drinking creme de menthe, shaken not stirred lol :mini:

ssshhh just watching it on catch up!

You can tell by the Bodyguards eyes and his manner that he means business.

Don’t think he should have left a bleeding Home Secretary in the car alone while he went to the top of a tall story building to confront the assassin.

Now it would have made really good telly if he had pushed her away when she went for his mouth.

I thought Daniel Craig was doing one more James Bond? Didn’t they offer him millions so he decided to do it ? A future Bond has to be Idris Elba he would be fantastic

Aye I would have given up on it right then and there

You really needed the subtitles on to understand his Scottish accent!

I know age shouldn’t matter but to me it was like a son kissing and bedding his mother.
I know it’s only fiction but what happened to professionalism? Would that really happen when her political career and his professional career were being put on the line?

I don’t find him attractive .
I like men with smiling eyes .
He has no panache .

I agree. It’s almost as difficult to understand as an Irish accent.

(Only joking, Angel.)
