The original battery lasts for 13 years Zac, at the end of that time technology will have moved on so they take the whole thing out, chuck it in the bin and replace the unit. Only the wires connecting it to the heart remain in place. They just unplug them and plug them in to the new unit.
That sounds a bit unlucky Foxy, 12 or 14 would have been more confidence inspiring

When the pacemaker quits the patient usually just drops stone cold.
I know wires corrode over time, connections become resistive to current flo.
The end is near Fox-est. Circuits breakers are blowing left and right, sparks
and lightnings flying. my Hair stands straight out now.
The doc can usually get the pacemaker back working and the heart beating but the patient is long gone brain dead. That happened to grandma, helicopter ride, $14,000 … Legal costs to get the GD thing disconnected to a passed Mema. More Hospital costs all because of an ignorant DR.

All these wild fires must be replacing all the CO2 that we have managed to send underground since we embarked on such futile and expensive attempt to collect it. No wonder energy bills are so high.
Perhaps it’s natures way of replacing it.
They fill fire extinguishers with CO2 perhaps it’s natures way of preventing wild fires.
Buggering about with the composition of the atmosphere will end in disaster…
My bet is most fires are started by people. CO2 Fire extinguishers are for Electrical fires. Good old water and fire departments instead of AF1 flying everyday is what is needed. All these self important guys, Politicians, Generals, Admirals etc. can do video conferencing instead. Its just egos a going into a jet.
Put a small acre fire out with water and it will rain more. Basically Satellites watch most all areas.
What Nations care about now is all twisted. How long has it been since a Smokey the Bear Commercial.
I remember coal was created by swamps / Peat Moss and then coal 350 million years ago when the world much wetter with lots of swamps / low land Boggs. Pangaea was a really big low places starter, after several others. That was around 300 million years before the forerunners of man 1st appeared with eyes, ears and grasping hand things.

CO2 will extinguish any sort of fire by depriving the fire of oxygen.
Perhaps I was being facetious about CO2 being natures fire retardant, but not about the huge amount of CO2 released into the atmosphere. Not all fires are caused by humans… 
Most electrical fires are caused by high resistance and poor usage of the proper tools to measure the circuits and Breaker temps during home inspections and commercial. Much is caused by low current demand during the tests. The inspectors go into a home / Commercial building, all the stuff is shut off.
Of course Transformers also blow, again resistance and over usage + lightning strikes. The thing about lightning is it is usually accompanied by inches of Rain locally.
One can only fanaticize what an Ai center burn is going to be like !

My car had a recall, something about the timing chain but it might just be an excuse to tamper with my software. They said as much on the letter…(software update)…It would suit me not to have any software on my car at all, but hey ho that’s the way of the world nowadays.
I took it to the main Citroen dealers a couple of miles from home. I never take it there because they are so expensive, so I use this bloke round the corner who seems to know what he’s doing, but for a recall it has to be the main dealer, and it is free…
I decided to walk home and take the scenic route. It’s a bit further but goes down by the canal. I used to run round this course a few years ago but haven’t done it since…
It used to be such a lovely path.
There is a high metal fence now to stop people going over the rough ground and find the nice path by the side of the canal. I found a gap in the fence that people were using so in I went…
The nettles were atrocious, and the brambles were sharp, but I fought on through the undergrowth to get to the nice path by the side of the canal…I found the path by the side of the canal, but it wasn’t nice. I decided that it would be worse to go back than carry on, the path must get better later on…It didn’t, and I had over a mile to do before I ended up on a decent path. Stinging from a thousand nettles, and bleeding from been raped by brambles, I eventually arrived home…Tired and sweaty, I definitely won’t be going back that way when my car is ready…
And I hope they haven’t buggered up my software or else there’ll be trouble!..

On the bike today Foxy, I got off and explored a foot bridge beyond the hedgerow I had not seen before from the car, there was a makeshift staircase which it looked like folks had avoided because there was a steep path worn into the undergrowth bypassing the steps, well on the way back down, I got a bit of pensioner panic, I knew there was no physical reason to but, it was just a moment of doubt, lets hope that was a one off!!

We’ve got a level crossing over the main Kings Cross to Edinburgh line, the trains usually pass in excess of 100 mph… It’s out in the sticks and is covered in samaritans posters.
Had to walk back to the garage to collect the car during rush hour. Two and a half miles along a very busy road with the humidity off the scale. Better than getting nettled to death though.
I wonder if it’s possible to get ‘nettled to death’?

Being a pensioner now, its getting more difficult avoiding the nettles on the bare arms, on the bike, to be honest, I think I am looking for pensioner problems, tying to get the feel for it

Maybe the legs need more exposure Foxy, a couple of weeks ago, my son said to me “Dad, you haven’t got old mans legs”, that means more than hearing it from a fit Bird.
