At What Age Do You Start Feeling 'Old'? And Does that Feeling Affect Who You Are?

Having got old (81), quite unfit and now looking back, I can say it was about 78 for me. It was quite sudden and unexpected.

It’s about doing what you can do and thinking twice about doing what you shouldn’t!
I have this hankering from time to time to take up Karate again. I’m no longer fourteen :open_mouth:

People, young and not so young are generally courteous here in London. I don’t really know about other parts of the country.

Most people around here are tourists or obviously non British. The rest feel sorry for a sad old git.

You would always be offered a seat up here in Yorkshire Helen, and it would be mine if I was on the same bus…
Perhaps I need to re-phrase that… :017:

I find at my age now that since I injured my arm exercise apart from walking has been diffucult and so my overall flexibility has dropped off. I am struggling getting into my dresses as well so my weight has gone up as well. Stiffness from sitting to long and my legs feeling weaker has resulted all fr9m a bad arm. Now I am focussed again on getting slimmer and more flexible ( I hope ! ).

Don’t worry Sandra, give it time and you will return your fitness and mobility…

We all need a compliment from time to time Sandra, and I consider getting to a mature age and still being active is living life to the full…
:hugs:

Hi Mr Fox, I like to think I am still active in all compartments if you know what I mean. So your lovely comments are very welcome. Tell have you been on here long and are you enjoying it ? x

Hello AD, yes for my sins I’ve been a member since early 2015 and it’s the only forum for me.
I have made many friends over the years, but sadly some have passed and some have moved to other forums. I have always hoped to meet some members eventually but I’ve only met one up until now.

Wow you have been on here a while, its nice to chat with people. I live on my own now as hubby ran off with a younger model but I am happy except for no man in my life. Who knows one day my prince will come but by then I will sadly not be able to swept up onto his horse without breaking something lol. x

Sorry to hear about your husband AD, I’ve been married to Mrs Fox for 54 years in October but we have our up’s and down’s. She used to be a care assistant in a nursing home, so I guess it will come in handy in my later life…

Thanks for the sympathy and yes assuming you need care before her that could work, its the blanket baths that I would hate. x
