Aren't you glad now that we left the EU?

You seem to admire the man, but God knows why. :102:

well at least you arenā€™t getting boat loads of EU citizens wanting to sample the good life in UK as well as the asylum seekers??

I donā€™t know what we are getting, to be honest; I live in a bubble. I only come out on Thursdays, to do my shopping.

there is another thread that might brighten life a bit more called " the green and pleasant land"??

You should go out on Wednesdays, old geezers get a discount then.

when do they give out the discharges??

24/7ā€¦

A number of reasons one being his attempt to talk Tsar Alexandrovich Romanov from becoming involved in WW1. The British government was keen that the conflict took place (Britain was the America of the day) hence the ---- involvement ---- in Rasputinā€™s assassination.

It doesnā€™t sound like that big a deal, Todger; not after all this time. Certainly not something one who doesnā€™t like to care about anything would go against his principles for, I wouldnā€™t have thought.

You asked why I admire the man. I gave a partial answer.

And I appreciate it, Todger, thank you. :+1:

Yay at last:

We joined the EEC. EU is completely different. Heath already knew about the EEC and its plans, a federal Europe; which were kept from the public.

Heā€™s a hero in my book, who keeps up the protest :muscle:t4::man_superhero:

Eccentric, yes, but UKIP et al were considered eccentric when they campaigned to Leave

And the new laws about protesting are just a Draconian way for Johnson and his chumocracy to stifle legitimate protest against them :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Itā€™s Steve Bray silenced today, which legitimate and justified protest tomorrow? :zipper_mouth_face::no_mouth:

Of course the Brexiteers and Johnson fans are squealing with delight at seeing someone daring to tell the truth about their darlings shut up in this way :woman_shrugging:

But keep going Steve Bray, Iā€™ll chip in to cover your fine if you get one :+1:

He hasnā€™t been prevented from protesting, he just has to lower the tone which even got on Anna Soubryā€™s nerves and had no regard for people living nearby.

In a democracy, the wishes of the majority of the voting population are what should count.
If some of the losers of a vote want to complain about it, thatā€™s OK, but if such protests are causing problems to others then I support the actions of the police in this instance.
Apart from that, shouting, protesting, playing loud music, etc., is not going to change peopleā€™s minds.

If anything, these things will harden the hearts against the perpetrators. At least, thatā€™s my experience.

Australian PM Albo is in Europe chatting to NATO leaders and making new mates. He is hoping to conclude a FTA with the EU within 9 months after talks were stalled because of Scotty from Marketing and his total lack of policy on climate change.

Iā€™m not a big fan of any politician but I prefer Albo to his predecessor.Asylum seekers should be treated with some humanity now anyway.

I agree, he is no Bob Hawke or Paul Keating (not even close) but he is a true believer I think.
