Yes, and no. Some aspects of my life are completely routine, I do however, I keep my spontaneity alive and well!!

We are all creatures of habit. Brewing fresh ground coffee and since covid having a morning bath with scented oil and taking the dog for a walk in the park are my favourite routines. As well as cooking Sunday lunch for the family. The boring habits are feeding the pets, washing their bowls, washing, Ironing ( a never event), tidying up after others (groan) emptying the bins, dustbin day etc…

I don’t mind doing it all, but I hate having to go anywhere, to the opticians, dentist or the doctors, I just like staying at home.

Okay, but don’t say I didn’t warn you about boredom.
Rise at or around 05:30 and visit bathroom.
05:45 descend stairs dressed in y’days castoffs to prep breakfast and then down to music workshop for an hour’s self indulgence with instruments of choice.
07:00 return to house and get Mrs LD from her bed and into her walk-in seated shower with her to ensure she is safe without falling. Clean, dried then dressed in clean clothes we both go down to breakfast and then make plans for the rest of the day usually from around 08:30. Routine is now over and anything can happen👍
The only deviation to the above is if I decide on my wide (double) Jacuzzi jetted bath instead of a shower.

What actually is routine? is it something done every day-week or year the same. Putting up a Christmas tree each year could be classed as routine for example.
What is really good is a Hot Tub… indoors would be favourable in the Winter…one like we had with massage jets and more to choose from where you can move about in the water that is warm and relaxing, especially when outside of the water you struggle…
Would have to be an inbuilt one for those that can’t manage ladders…

My neighbour, has a routine every single day, she does the same jobs in order , like clockwork, I have routine in certain areas, …but, I don’t do the same jobs every day like she does.
