Are You A Routine Type Of Person?

Is routine important to you?

Or maybe you don’t have a routine?

Tell me what your routine consists of a day, if that’s not being to nosey?.

My life since the stroke has been driven by routine and that starts when a necessary body function demands I rise from bed usually around 05:30 and then my day begins, most of it until breakfast is over, by routine …almost OCD type routine which would bore everybody if I were to list the events.

If you feel you can list your routine,I’m very interested in listening.

My routine seems to have gone out of the window at the moment.

I worked nights for a number of years, as I was a single parent,my mother used to look after them.

I think the nights messed my clock up,as I’ve done my jobs mostly at night.

At the moment the routine is work. My work day starts at rising at 5:30 4 days a week, weekend’s there is no routine, this is all set to change, I’ve said before early retirement beckons (in 60 work hours time I’m not counting, honest) . Each day will be new and there’ll be no clock watching, target’s etc.

Up at 5:00am, walk between 4 and 5 miles depending which route I choose, breakfast, chores (including prepping lunch and dinner) until 9:00am, shower. The rest of the day is mine to play with - unstructured - until about 6:00pm. While the meal is cooking I bathe and change ready for dinner at 7:30pm. After dinner is a bit serendipty until bed time - usually about 1:00am.

As you see - some of the day is routine - but most of it isn’t - and that is how I like it - spent long enough dancing to other people’s time.

I don’t really have a routine. Though on getting up the first thing I do, after having a wee, is take my pills every morning & make a coffee. I need coffee. :grinning:

Some of its routine, this is getting up at 4.40 am every day as well as Sundays. Make breakfast dogs has theirs then take them out at 6.10am come back do their teeth, I have a wash and do teeth. Anything before 10 am is up to me. At 10 am dogs have their lunch, take them out, come back weigh their food for later and tomorrow morning. I have a apple and banana, I can do what ever I want until 1.30 pm that’s when I start making dinner, put the pressure cooker on with the veg at 2pm. At 2.30pm dogs have their dinner and take them out for a walk then come back and we’ll have ours, I do the washing up then the dogs go for their last walk. At 5pm sit down and watch TV or YouTube. At 7pm hubby takes the dogs for a wee, in between that I comb them and settle down until 10pm then they go for another wee and we go to bed for about 10.45pm.In between all of that I’m making cups of tea. That’s my routine for every day.

I don’t have a routine other than getting up between 7am and 7.30. The nearest I got was watching the NSW Premier’s Covid press conference at 10am. When Gladys stopped doing that I was at a bit of a loss for at least a day.

Logan that is sounding like hard going to me…realise that your just stating your routine though and obviously in between you get a lot from your Dogs…

I don’t run on routine overall but do have certain tasks that have to be done…whether you wish to or not…
I am not a planner and go from one thing to another but I am an achiever.
I can multi task and also chill quite easily.
Husband is on a mission most days nearly all thoughts to our Pets welfare.
I get it, but he does things his way and I do my things my way… :+1: :+1:

good version

I guess I am. Mostly. Get out of bed, shower, get dressed, breakfast, walk the dogs, walk to the convenience store. That’s about it unless we have appoints for doctors or for the Osteopath or the groomer.

In a week’s time it will be topsy turvy with the kids and grand kids for a couple of weeks.
