If you have kids or grandchildren and they have a mobile phone, there is a brilliant app you can install to keep track of them safely. It’s called Life360 and will show where your kids are with an accuracy of around 6 feet. Not only that, you can see them travelling in real time on google maps so you can zoom in to see exactly what house number on a street they are on.
We watched our 12 year old walk around Sainsbury’s, its that accurate.
Also, you can see how much phone battery they have left.
For drivers, it also shows you the speeds they have been driving at, including hard acceleration and breaking. Very useful for young drivers.
So go give it a go - it’s free.!
Here is a screenshot of my app showing Mrs Bread, Charlie and Me. When Mrs Bread comes home I can watch here reverse up the drive.
I can understand it for kids and grandkids (if you are their main carer), but if you don’t mind me saying, its a bit creepy to keep tabs on your other half. Just sayin’
Edited to add - can you give them extra battery power if they are low? How does that work?
We don’t have a problem with it. I just get the kettle on when Mrs Bread is nearly home and if I’m walking back from the pub at night in the dark it gives us both piece of mind. You can switch yourself off from it whenever you like
Thats ok if it works for both of you, and its certainly a good idea from a safety aspect, yes. I just jumped on the wary side, because I knew someone who was remotely tracked by her husband and subjected to questioning.
Yeah well…normal folk don’t think that way, usually!
Anyway, you said it can be switched off…does your son do that or is he under strict instructions not to? I imagine he might try it a few times if he is with his friends!
Yes he can switch it off but if he does he will be grounded for a while. He’s very good, he understands he needs to keep it running while he is out and forgets most of the time its on.
I suppose it’s handy if you need to produce an alibi anytime or want to track or monitor your families activities …otherwise like anything else it’s open to abuse by anyone else who has access to your mobile phone account.
How’s that work? Do you shout outloud for it ?
Ring it on another phone?
This is all very clever … does it growl at you if you accidentally sit on it too?
