If I’ve lost it in the house, I just tell Alexa to call me.
We do not own smartphones, but if we did and IF I did put a tracker on my wife’s phone she would insert it for me where the sun don’t shine
I suppose it’s handy if you need to produce an alibi anytime or want to track or monitor your families activities …otherwise like anything else it’s open to abuse by anyone else who has access to your mobile phone account.
I think it could be creepy if used in a controlling or abusive way
But it could be brilliant for carers. This would have been very handy for my mum and dad when they were at the early stages of vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s They still wanted to be independent and go about their normal activities but I used to worry myself to death every time they went out in case they had an attack or got lost
I suspect older children would know how to fiddle the tech if they wanted to fool you, and they might get someone else to carry their phone around if they were going somewhere they didn’t want you to know about
