This is very impressive, I like it! I wonder if I could try something like this, and fix it onto the fence of the decking. A job for a dry day.

Are those suet cakes or seed balls?
They look great. I don’t believe we have anything available for sale over here like that. It looks like a fine idea. What type of bird is that?

Thats a Bluetit I believe and they are fat balls. Not that difficult to make really, I lie they are a bit of a faff if I am honest.

Thank you. Yes they are a nuisance to make. I wish we had these here. They look perfect for bird feeding. That’s a very pretty bird.

Where are you that you cannot simmilar products, mind you there is a lot of rubbish ones around?

Canada. I have never seen these type of things before. We get square blocks for feeders like these. !

These are the only type of suet / fat bird food I can find. Sometimes I save the plastic trays and make my own suet but I really like those fat balls. They look so convenient. Thank you.

I am always buying fat balls the birds in my garden gobble them up as soon as look at them .
I have to have protective hangers that keep the bigger birds out .

I used to make that shape myself as I had square shaped feeders but it was such a nuisance making my own that I started to try shop bought ones and after a bit of research these seem to go down the best plus I have plenty of feeders for the ball shapes. :grinning:

I shall start my internet search for them.
Thank you.

A bloody gert big pigeon destroyed the blackbirds nest , eggs an all by muscling in and trying to build a nest, I’m shooing the pigeon out, won’t have them nesting in there.

The nest box is being occupied by a pair of Blue tits.

Nice little Robin with what looks like his mealworm brekkie, Warleyron.
I do like to see those little birds.

This any use?

OMG! You found some and at a great price too.
Thank you Mr. Fraggle. Yayyyy. I’m buying some.
Btw…. That’s Canadian currency.

Members on another forum explained how to use Google to search in Canada rather than where I am the UK. The rest as they say is history. You will need to post a pic or two when you have the balls in place.

Precisely why I’m not sure why I didn’t look. It’s just not something I even thought of to be honest but I will start from now on. I’m not sure why I didn’t think of it but a smashing idea.
Thanks again. I’m doing the happy dance right now. :dancer: The pic about the balls I’ll get you back for later.:crazy_face:

Greedy little buggers aren’t they? I filled our fat ball feeder on Saturday and it’s empty already. It’s taken them 3 weeks to find the sunflower seed feeder but now that’s nearly empty too.

Couple of the rather stunning Jackdaws availing themselves of the facilities.
