Am I drinking too much alcohol?

See Foxy, folks underestimate the power of alcohol to change lives

Absolutely Spitty, you wouldn’t think it could change lives for the better, although Mrs Fox might give me an argument…

It’s all relative Foxy, lets say you have a choice, a beer a night to help you unwind or a pill containing some chemical substance, you will be judged negatively by members of the medical profession (and certain sections of the general community) for doing the former although, the former may have less physical and mental risk and produce the same result to general well being.

I’m going to start having a big glass of Baileys every night …as well as a beer every now and then if I fancy it.

If by a pill you mean a sleeping tablet - I dont think that is true

The medical proffesion would be ok with alcohol l in moderation within guideline limits - and one beer a night would be that - with the recomendation to have 1 or 2 days per week alcohol free.

Likewise sleeping tablets - you are usually advised to have 1 or 2 nights a week without them.

So medical proffesion probably has same view on each.

Roberts Law states that it is no good for your health to do either… :009:

I enjoy a black coffee and Irish whisky in the evenings before bed, relaxes me.

I’d ditch the caffeine mate, as for the rest :+1:

Coffee’s here. 2>3/day. Come laced with Honey + 50ml of Rum, Brandy or Whisky.
The vicar remarked. Why not try ALL 3. In one go.
 All the way >> AA. :innocent:

Guess I’m not drinking too much alcohol…this was a gift over a year ago, and I haven’t even taken it out of the box yet!

Never tried Baileys (or any liqueur ) with my coffee, too sweet, just plain black coffee and Tullamore Dew (Irish Whisky).

An excellent point, which has been addressed to me by my doctors. 75 yrs old with a medical history of 4 concussions, 3 strokes, and 2 congested heart failures (they said I would die 10 years ago), and now 10 years past my expiration date, I pay no attention.

4 concussions? were you a football player or a boxer or just very unlucky ? :grinning:

Talking about Bailey’s Irish Cream.

My wife gave me a small bottle for a birthday, god knows when. We divorced in 2002 and she died last Christmas. Anyway I found this bottle about a month or so ago unopened (I prefer beer) so I thought I would try it.

When I opened the bottle I discovered it had gone solid.

Bruce - Baileys and co do have use by dates - the milk base doesn’t last indefinitely

as I guess you found out :smirk:
