A warning to dog walkers

Unless their against being mean to foxes I doubt it .

I think I will just dismantle the raised beds after this Summer. I had to pull up all the plants in the fox toilet with hardly any harvest so not worth bothering with.

But my main point was that foxes poo wherever and also carry toxo, but as they are wild it’s ok.

More likely to get it from a cat than a fox .
They are primary carriers and poop everywhere in peoples gardens .

The act of walking/exercise stimulates the process of pooing, so perhaps playing in the garden is enough for the dogs. The dog who lives in a flat does it whenever he can get out.

saw something advertised locally:

If you can’t hold your hand on the tarmac for seven seconds then it’s too hot for a dog’s paw.

*Annie, have a read of this, it might be of help?

Or Amazon have quite a few repellentsd too -

https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=fox+repellent&crid=1DUX58692OBJI&sprefix=fox+repellent%2Caps%2C104&ref=nb_sb_noss_1

(P.S. I wouldn’t personally use pepper as it can get in an animals eyes.)

@Muddy , Yep felines stink more too, plus they try to hide it !!

This is the problem, any fox deterrent may also affect my pets and other animals. I wonder whether there are any plants they don’t like? Something smellier than fox poo maybe.

But they are ever so neat at covering up their poos.

Did you look at the Amazon deterrents? It may say on the label about other animals, else I would ring the manufacturers and ask.

Have you found how the foxes are getting in to your garden in the first place? Can you not block or mend the entrance they’ve made?

I’ve tried Mups. They jump over the neighbour’s 6ft fence. I can’t really do much to change it as it’s not my property. They are just great at jumping. There is also a shed opposite our shed at the back of the garden so I guess they can climb on the roofs even through there are trellises in between. There are new higher trellises but they still find a way in. Drives the dog bonkers. They tore open several bags of compost in Spring, then tried to get at them again when they were secured with bricks and covered by a wheelbarrow. Tore a plant out of the ground in their efforts. I managed to rescue that (a beautiful Dutchman’s breeches) and plant the broken branches in soil right away. It’s now thriving in a pot on the patio. I see a neighbour left a bin bag outside their wheelie bin last night as there is rubbish all over the road opposite our house.

I’m not keen on any chemical deterrents. I tried garlic spray but it didn’t work. Do you not have any trouble with foxes where you are Mups?

Only submissive cats bury their faeces - to disguise the fact they have trespassed.
Dominent cats leave their faeces on top of the soil/garden/whatever to warn other cats to keep out. :smiley_cat: :smiley_cat:

Not me personally, but they took next door’s chickens last year.

Does that mean that I can use cat shit to keep other cats out? I’m plagued with the bird killers, so a strategically placed cat turd might just do the job?

Note to self:

Where can I get some cat muck?

Email me your address - I’ll ask Nemo to send you some!
