A New Steady Support

I am not a big fan of Tripods and though I have a couple I tend to use a G Clamp device or something similar when needed.

However very occasionally I have wanted to use the extreme zoom on my video camera and up pops this warning about wobbling. The camcorder is a bit larger than my compact cameras too.

This thing was on Amazon for about $26 so decided to try it. There is a smaller version in plastic or this larger version in aluminium. It goes up to 2 metres height which might be handy for a light or flash but a bit too unsteady for a camcorder (unless steadied by hand). I suspect I shall use it at the most about a metre high (ie sitting comfortably behind it)

It can be used as a selfie stick if you like that sort of thing or just as a handle. The thing I like is that it fits just about anywhere being so narrow. Not sure yet if it will prove useful so it might end up in the bag of things I never use.

It depends , but normally I use the Manfrotto befree live tripod for travel . there is a trick on testing tripods. Extend them fully and check for firmness. I also prefer to use a fluid head such as the Manfrotto MVH400 AH head

My table top tripod. A mix of moman base sirui sl200 extendable extn and MVH200 AH head. also wired trigger remote switch clamped on the arm
