A few observations by Bretrick

2 days ago, as I was leaving my unit to go places I came across a lady who was not a resident, walking around the property with no real intent.
My first thought was she is casing the place. By the timeI had got to my car and exited the property, the lady was 50 meters down the road. She obviously scarpered rather rapidly after seeing me. I drove passed her at idle speed, all the time looking at her. Simply to let her know I am aware of her unlawful? presence on said property.
When I return 5 hours later, there she is, a block away from my property, pulling a 4 wheel trolley.
There were also 3 young children with her, around the age of 5.
Looked to me that she was going around the neighbourhood seeing what was readily to be placed in the trolley.
My nearest semi large shopping centre, Morley Galleria has a food court with up to 20 food outlets.
Well there used to be 20 food outlets on the first level. Now there are 2.
6 months ago most of the outlets closed down. As well as all the specialty stores on the first level.
When I asked the customer service people why have most of the outlets closed the response was, "Their leases have expired and management are going to do wholesale renovations.
My response was, “It has already been 6 months and no work has begun, going to be a long time before Galleria is somewhere that people will want to come to”.
She did say it would be at least another 12 months before anything reopens.
My next statement was, "That seems really a strange way to operate a business, closing everything down at once, leaving the place looking empty. Why have the two remaining food outlets not being renovated at the same time?
“Their lease has not expired”
“So are all the original tenants coming back”?
“No, some of them do not want to”
“Management must have raised their rents making it unviable”
“No, that is not the case”

My Mitsubishi ASX is in for a 60,000km service today. Original price - with air conditioning service was $538.
They rang me and said two filters not covered under the service need replacing.
Total cost will come to $648.

When I collect my vehicle I am driving out to New Norcia, which is 120 km north of Perth.
This is where hundreds of Little Corellas, Galahs and Ring Necked Parrots reside.
I hope to video them at dusk, when they all congregate in the surrounds of the Benedictine Monastery.

The Perth Cup (horse racing) will take place on New Years Day.
My tips are
1 - Let’s Galahvant (10/1)
2 - Currimundi (40/1)
15 - Sentimental Hero (5/1)

That all sounds a bit bleak.
At least you can escape and enjoy the natural world.

Life can be bleak, but only if one allows it to affect one.
This is the reason I so often go out into the bush.
Yesterday I was fortunate enough to video baby Corella chicks being fed by a parent.
So marvelous to encounter nature in all it’s wonder and beauty.
