Genius! And what a performance that was. :023:

I know it’s just a TOTP performance but I like this video and this version …

love this one.

And I’ll add this…

An oldie from 1974. We tend to forget that Noddy could actually sing.

Really pleased you posted this LD, because on my original list
for this thread is this Slade classic:

Another great song from Slade, Floydy. I think Noddy Holder had such a good distinctive voice and Dave Hill was my first guitar hero.

Thanks for that Floydy, I’ve never seen that on youtube before, but may have seen it on OGWT back in 1980 … I think it was.

Love this vid …

One of those songs you just have to sing along to.

Two perfect songs intrinsically connected. Here is what Wikipedia says:

“Black Dog” is built around a call and response dynamic between the vocalist and band, with its start and stop a cappella verses inspired by Fleetwood Mac’s 1969 song “Oh Well”.

John Paul Jones, who is credited with writing the main riff, was inspired by Muddy Waters’ controversial 1968 album Electric Mud. He added a winding riff and complex rhythm changes, a clever pattern that turns back on itself more than once, crossing between time signatures as it does.
