I don’t much about them except for this:
It’s not everybody taste, to see classical music done with synthesizers, and this is from back in the 70s, done by a Japanese keyboard genius called “Isao Tomita” and is “Clair de Lune”. I also adore the orchestral version, but this version has a deep, sentimental meaning to me and I never tire of listening to it.
This is late in the 2nd movement of Anton Bruckner’s No 7, and is, to my view, spectacular. Hint…lean on the volume, for this.
You won’t get any argument from me. I bought his Snowflakes are Dancing album on the strength of hearing it played at the Reading Festival in 1975. A marvellous album in its entirety.
Ah … yes. Tomita-san. I had completely forgotten about this Japanese genius. This is the album that bought him to my attention decades ago:
Blimming eck…I very nearly applauded with the audience! What a cracking piece of music that is. Must try and find more online.
Thanks for sharing. (I do also love the vocal version.)
After listening to the 2Cellos I just had to order the deluxe version of their CD/DVD!! Love it.
Not long picked up my 2Cellos cd/dvd combo. Yay…
