Your earliest musical memory

Yes, I liked that too Mags

I always liked his voice.

A very early one for me was being in hospital at about 3 years old? feeling sorry for myself in the big scary hospital ward and hearing this come on the hospital radio

other than that my Dad liked Jim Reeves so I heard him a lot and my Mother liked Shirley Bassey.

my first favourite song came from my dad constantly playing it, April Showers I think it was Al Jolson, still makes me cry, then it was take me back to the blackhills, I think it was Doris Day, and I love to this day the golden voice of Matt Munroe.

I remember going to a Birthday Party with my older Brother it was at a pub where the girl whose party it was lived. There was a large Jukebox as you walked in and i heard Perry Como singing " Magic Moments " i think i was 5 years old at the time… It’s strange how you remember so far back…

Bill Hayley & his Comets “Rock Around The Clock”

A carriage clock that played Daisy Daisy.

Yes I remember this very well - the scenery was nice too

When mum was getting the Sunday dinner ready while listening to 2-way Family Favourites, she would sing along to this one. I would be around three years old.

Not in the hospital it was not  the one I remember was the Mouse on the stair song

I wasn’t referring to your hospital stay, but the video, besides a few days in hospital at that young age didn’t do you much harm did it??? - I think I was about 5 when I was admitted to the Children’s Hospital for a routine tosilectomy - should have been there just 3 - 4 days, was actually detained 3 weeks, because one of the other patients on the ward contracted Diptheria and the whole ward was placed in quarantine.

No it was interesting I suppose, the fact I still remember it means it must have made an impression

Oh this was made before I joined up.

My earliest musical memory was when I got a record player when I was really young. I had no records for it, but it was pink and girly. I rummaged around the cupboard and found a record called “Tie a yellow ribbon” and I hated it. Then I found some Bo Diddley, which I liked. Can’t recall where I was but I was very young.

Funny thing is @Minx, as a small child I thought her voice was the most beautiful sound in the world, found out later that she sings like me, off-key!!
