With the XLR twin cable for stereo on the camcorder, only one feed worked.
one similar to this but with a right angle on one end.
So all I was getting was half the stereo one side only. Tried swapping over the other end into different socket , same thing. So it must be one of the leads faulty. First check was the 3 pole end and unscrewed it. Found the fault, inside there are 3 wires, 2 live and one earth (ground) wire. Each live goes to different XLR connector. So got out a Loupe (magnify glass) and spotted one live wire was in contact with the earth… Now we are talking about fractions on a mm clearance between all 3. The earth had a over size lump of solder on it which didn’t help. With the computer screwdriver mini set I eventually seperated all three and screwed the black procetective cover back on.
Now ready to test and check. Stereo now ok so saved a few bob from buying another.
