It keeps me awake at night too, perhaps that’s the point?
As for Dennis Wheatley he was something of his time I think. The occult was popular during the early 7Os as was Sci-Fi. You could walk into almost any main stream book shop or even a larger branch of Boot’s or Woolies and take your pick… probably around forty to sixty new pence a volume.

Something happened in 1984 that brought this home to me and I haven’t forgotten.
