Right now - with the way the world is and seems to be heading. No, ta. In fact I feel sorry for the kids today with so many issues, challenges and problems … locally and globally. I’m actually a bit surprised that the youth around today don’t rebel against the generations that have pretty much messed everything up. Pollution, debt, tech that really does not help, algorithms, climate, unemployment, gig economy, meaningless consumerism, wealth divide, unaffordable housing, wars, racism, sexism, anti-different and lots of hatred, … you name it, the 40’s 50’s 60’s 70’s 80’s year olds have not done a great job these past few decades.

There is nothing new there, except perhaps algorithms.
I know there are a few obscenely rich people, just ignore them.

That’s true. Which means decades have passed and nothing meaningful has been addressed or sorted.
There is surely also some things missing that would have been around in previous generations. Perhaps hope and optimism. Perhaps excitement and anticipation about new things being or to be developed. Perhaps satisfaction that action could and was taken to address harmful things like DDT or CFC or acid rain.

Hey Lincs … that seems harsh. Isn’t every generation supposed to blame the one before?
The world will surely only change when human nature changes and I don’t see that happening anytime soon even with current youngsters.

It was meant to be harsh - you know, channeling the vibe of an annoyed Gen Z kid.
As for blaming the previous generation - as a baby boomer my previous generation was the Silent Generation that went through WW2. So I think I can give them some leeway.

I wasn’t thinking of individuals when I apportioned blame … more the politics, political movements and social attitudes of the time.
I always remember my grandmother, a grumpy thing bless her, who said that youngsters today, meaning me, had never had it so good and we needed another bloody good war to sort us out. Amazing thing to say when she had lived through both World Wars.
She disliked the world she lived in. Watched TV only on B&W and was afraid of the washing machine.
Perhaps I’ve reached the age when I’m now channelling my grumpy grandmother 
Seriously … kids nowadays have never had it so good. …but … the brown stuff is soon going to hit the fan and there’ll be a day of reckoning … so they’ll have it bad too.
Very bad …as in where does the world go from here with it’s overpopulation, shortage of natural resources, mass migrations whether economic or wartorn, and the dreaded AI.
Mankind’s about to be obsolete and dumped on the scrapheap.

Even without waiting for the brown stuff to hit the fan, I’d think that kids today do not have as good as kids of previous decades. I’m unable to think of anything kids today have that is better than, say, kids in the 70’s and 80’s had. A Playstation and an i-phone do not make a better childhood. Nor do they make up for unpayable student debt and zero chance of getting their own house.
And then sometime in the near future, as you note, the brown stuff really appears.

Never mind their own house …many of them choose to stay at home with mum & dad.
On the other hand … there won’t be any jobs soon either.
I often wonder what the human race will do when technology has streamlined Life… We’ll be obsolete.
That said, I haven’t any kids or grandkids so may well be biased.
It would be nice to think we’d become more philanthropic and humane.
