Sounds like an irresponsible question, and they are probably being selective with the respondents they screen.
Maybe the spotty obese billy-no-mates who dream up and peddle the theories know more than the nhs do
No I donāt see myself as an anti-vaxxer Annie, I see myself as somebody who takes full responsibility for his own health. And if I think it might be bad for my health it doesnāt go in. The human body is a wonderful thing, it can make repairs when it gets damaged, and it can fight off most illnesses if itās kept in good nick. How many vaccines are available these days?.. My Dad had one or two, I had perhaps five or six, my daughter had ten or twelve, and my grandkids have had at least twentyā¦Come on Annie, who wants to live in a sterile world until they are 150 too frightened to go out without a mask or the appropriate vaccination?..Label me if you will, but I will continue to live my life by my rules not the NHS or the government. Iām seventy years old and as fit as a butchers dog, sure, Iāve had a couple of wobbles over the years but today Iāve just returned from an eight mile run, so whatever it is that Iām doing seems to be doing the trickā¦If it aināt brokeā¦
And you are quite correct about brainwashing Annie, but it works both ways, and the establishment have the upper hand when it comes to brainwashing, they have got the media and your bank detailsā¦I read all sides to any story, and at the moment the jury is still out on whatās going on in the world today with covid, brexit, and this stupid PC world. None of this has affected me in the little village where I live, so until it does, Iāll carry on as Iāve always doneā¦
I have never said the NHS is āout to get peopleā Annie?
I also said I suspect the sterility thing is just scaremongering.
But I did say many people are scared of the vaccine because it is new and unknown. I still stick by that.
If anyone does not agree with the reasoning for reluctance of many, perhaps they would like to offer another possibility?
I agree with you about any possible sterility problem in our age groups Bruce, but if you read back a few posts I did say it would only be a worry for those that are trying for a baby - which is not likely affect many of us!
However, the vaccine isnāt only for us oldies, so I am trying to understand all age groups fears, not just our own.
I donāt know dOOd, all I saw was there was a young couple with a push chair who said āNoā as well as middle age +, so it was a varied bunch they asked.
I do agree with you about the power of brainwashing, Foxy.
I also agree that for your age group, you are probably one of the fittest people on the forum, so you canāt be doing much wrong.
There is no such thing as āthe vaccineā:
What types of COVID-19 vaccines are being developed? How would they work?
Scientists around the world are developing many potential vaccines for COVID-19. These vaccines are all designed to teach the bodyās immune system to safely recognize and block the virus that causes COVID-19.
Several different types of potential vaccines for COVID-19 are in development, including:
[]Inactivated or weakened virus vaccines, which use a form of the virus that has been inactivated or weakened so it doesnāt cause disease, but still generates an immune response.
[]Protein-based vaccines, which use harmless fragments of proteins or protein shells that mimic the COVID-19 virus to safely generate an immune response.
[]Viral vector vaccines, which use a virus that has been genetically engineered so that it canāt cause disease, but produces coronavirus proteins to safely generate an immune response.
[]RNA and DNA vaccines, a cutting-edge approach that uses genetically engineered RNA or DNA to generate a protein that itself safely prompts an immune response.
A list of vaccine candidates is here:
OK. A vaccine then.
Youāre splitting hairs.
No, Iām not ā¦
No-one knows much about the efficacy of ANY of the candidates yet - and all vaccines arenāt suitable for every one, while specialised vaccines may be needed for others.
Additionally, short/long-term adverse reactions may appear in a mass vaccination program while the longevity of āprotectionā (in real-life) of all candidates has yet to be established.
I didnāt say you did Mups.
Thatās interesting Dood. I can see the link between clickbait social media and the growth of such views. So on the one hand you have Bill Gates trying to erradicate disease in the world by promoting vaccination in countries where itās scarce and on the other Zuckerbergās algorithm persuading those in the West to be anti vaxx. Ironic.
Thereās just one thing wrong with all these links and opinions by journalists, scientists, and know it allsā¦Itās all bollox anywayā¦make up your own mind. Instead of - My link is better than your linkā¦
So what happened to the lockdown in 2018?
Everything we are doing to combat Covid is based on the infection rates posted daily on many official websites and the media. But what if the numbers are wrong?
I measure the infection rate by the number of people I hear coughing like a waste disposal machine and how many ambulance sirens there are each day. There were quite a few in April and May and now they are back. Based on the blocked drain coughs I predict itās not too good just now and may be worse in the next couple of weeks. My anecdotal evidence has been pretty much in line with the graphs so far. Spooky coincidence?
OGF do you know that this year has had a really big flu vaccine uptake? Getting flu and covid together is no fun.
I read a rather tongue-in-cheek article in todayās paper.
Quote:
" Iām fascinated by people who shout: āItās an attack on my civil libertiesā because they are asked to wear a face mask in shops.
They seem to think they are freedom-fighters, like Nelson Mandela.
āIt should be a matter of choice what I wearā they say.
Maybe thatās true, and that right is more important than any potential health risk.
In the same way, if I want to let some crocodiles loose in a school playground, that should be my right, and I donāt see why I should be stopped by some interfering teacher.
Some of them are now angry about the vaccine. āI wonāt be vaccinated,ā they say. āI read an article on the internet that says the vaccine will be full of weapons-grade plutonium so you light up in the dark to enable the CIA to track you at night so they can keep fiiles about which side of the bed you sleep in. And on top of that, it turns you into a zebra.ā
I think the point they are trying to make is, we were much healthier before we had medicine, back in the 12th century when we had a life expectancy of six."
Unquote.
Wild exaggeration? So are some of the tales on the internet.
Zuckerberg didnāt get where he is today by thinking there is anything more important than clicks.
You say you read this in a paper Mupsā¦
Does the bloke still write for the paper or has he been sacked for wasting valuable spaceā¦
Who is this bloke that is telling me to have the vaccine and wear a mask?
If I have the vaccine, is he prepared to sign a document to pay me damages if anything goes wrong? How can a so called journalist tell me what is best for my health?
Is he suggesting that everyone who refuses to have a vaccine and subscribes to his opinions would let crocodiles loose in a schoolyard? What a stupid and irresponsible thing to print. And does he assume that everyone refusing the vaccine believes that there is plutonium or some connection to 5G hidden in the vaccine?
Would he have printed the same argument about thalidomide?
Did you know that big pharma have now placed a clause in the legal stuff exonerating them from any blame or claims made by individuals should there be an adverse reaction to the vaccineā¦?
And does he think that everyone in the 12th century died at the age of six because they didnāt have vaccines in those days? Praise be to the NHS and big pharma!
Could it be that people died young in the 12th century because they didnāt live in a centrally heated house with clean running water and an efficient sewage system, or have a car on the drive, or a Tesco at the end of the street, or a government that will pay you when you get sick or retire, and because they didnāt sit on their arses all day writing shiteā¦
