I have always wondered why Canberra was established where it was.
I understand that both Melbourne and Sydney were at odds as to where it should be located so a midway point was chosen.
But it is one of the coldest places in Australia. Regularly dipping below zero with the coldest recorded at -10 Degrees.
21st June this year saw -7.6 degrees
