Microsoft pushes emergency update for Windows PrintNightmare zero-day
Several attempts to update on my regular PC all resulted in:
Failed to install on 07/07/2021 - 0x80070002
All corrective actions failed to rectify.
No reported errors on the internet.
Has anyone else tried this update … :?:

KB5004945 currently updating on my other (lappy) pc but has not yet arrived on this one.
I’m on my backup PC now - the update has downloaded and installed OK on this.
There is a FIX out there if you want to read further.
Thanks for the link …
… but I’ve already tried those with no success …
All done, no prob.
The lappy dates back to Nov 2017 … is newer than this one which is from 2013.
When I’m told the update is ready for the 2013 machine I’ll let you know what happens.
Installed without problem (Dell All in One)
note - it removes Adobe Flash Player!
Problem seemingly resolved.
I’d left the main PC powered off while I updated the backup … an hour later, I powered it up and retried the update - the download restarted from the beginning and installed OK … :!:
The old “cold start” still has benefits …
I updated today, no problems yet. Haven’t tried to print though.
That’s one of the reasons I avoid Windows Updates.
In the past, I have found that the lovely people at Microsoft like to remove the occasional bit of software just for a laugh!

Funny thing my laptop installed it today without any problems.
You want Adobe Flash Player to be uninstalled, Adobe have abandoned it and issued reminders for everybody to uninstall it

I’ve never questioned, avoided, delayed a windows update. And never had a problem.
Resistance is futile.
I avoid Windows Updates, and I’ve never had a problem either!
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!
