Wind Back to the 60's

Myself and a crowd of motorcyclists frequented a transport café where at the time the juke box record with the best beat was The Dave Clarke Five – “Bits and Pieces”. It was one of those where the beat was such that banging on the tables just happened. The tables were bolted to the floor anyway to stop other problems, that though made it even better to bang the tables hard. The other one similar with a good beat was “Glad All Over”, also by The Dave Clarke Five. We were all banned eventually but that is still remembered, the ‘good old days’ as they were known.

I was in love with Dave Clark so my late mate was in love with Mike Smith…we did see them several times at concerts…We lived and breathed music, and went to so many concerts, and wish I could do that all again…night all…

Two instrumentals from the 1960s, first – The Tornados, Telstar:

The other one, a difficult choice as there were so many to choose from so this is Mix – The Shadows – Instrumental Show:

I recall Dusty Springfield at Alexander Palace in north London many decades ago. She used to frequent the roller skating rink there, her and her ‘girlfriend’ were often seen skating together. In those days being a lesbian wasn’t as acceptable as it mostly is today. Not that anyone took much notice of the pair of them skating around holding hands, most of us probably knew anyway. ‘Good old days’ those were though, lots of memories of Dusty and others no longer with us.

Lots of information about Dusty Springfield on the link below, if anyone is interested:
